Why would we freeze a thread that is actively being used?
And why would we do so when there is a history of frustration about attempting to make this thread obsolete?

interesting.........who has tried to make this bar "obsolete"?

I know I post here, I know others do.....we get largely ignored, or over run with music videos and incantations, but, hardly is it not viable.

I think the "freeze" suggestion, was not meant as permanent, but a "pause" to consider how many wonderful pages of history are here..........then rev 'er back up!!

Perhaps it is the vernacular that is misleading.
I see a lock on some topics where no further posting is allowed, frozen, if you will, and thereby, obsolete.
This is what I thought was being suggested, and I was speaking against.

So don't expect him. Znobyzom is his resentful Ghost who only lives in the bar.. Mercilessly kicks something nut like. Unfortunately, I had to give up cigars and cigarettes. My lungs just got too angry.
Started smoking cigarettes last fall (after having quit for 15yrs) and haven't had one since Dec 31, 2011 now.
Just about over my playa cough.

My favorite bar has great music, strange fellows, smoky dark corners, questionable food spreads and often useless chatter.
I liked having a place to join in without having to have important on task conversation.
Granted that's not for everyone, but most new members here will tell you it is one of the easiest, most welcome threads on this site.

It was a Family member~ opens a deep freeze drawer under the bar~~~ painstakingly opens a crate to reveal 11 bottles of 100 year old Mackinlay's Scotch whiskey, wrapped in paper and straw to protect them from the rigors of a rough trip. pulls one ~ returns crate to deep freezer case below the Bar. Opens~ pours shot glasses until bottle is empty~ breaks bottle in fire place... takes one shot~ sips Whiskey~ nods to the .... well... what ever he is.... fluffiest bunny viking I have ever seen I'm telln ya. goes into the store room~ sits on a half wall next to the Irish style pot still. pokes at fire with stick.
