We were on Columbine at 4:15. I think we were on the best street in Black Rock City, with the lone exception I am about to share with you.

It probably started when many of their neighbors didn’t agree with what was apparently Sake Nome's belief that they were a 24/7 major sound camp, blasting their music to the degree that no camp within at least 5 camps of them could carry on a conversation, play their music, hold their events, or hear themselves think. Several people from several camps tried to appeal to them, to no avail, and ultimately Rangers needed to be called.

No further issues after that, but them came end of week.....

I am attaching a photo of the trash they left behind for anybody other than themselves to haul away at the end of the week. This is in addition to their bar, which they dismantled and left in one of their neighbor’s pickup trucks (to that neighbor’s surprise), and the jugs of piss they “gifted” to yet another neighbor.

If this camp gets anything other than a big fat red mark on the MOOP map, rest assured it is only because their neighbors picked up after them.

We were advised to also bring this to the attention to our placement coordinator, which we have done today.

Good thing to do if you have first-hand knowledge, and use short declarative sentences, along with describing what you did to comply with your own camp's cleanup plan.

Thanks - I thought long and hard about going public with this... "finking" isn't something that is in my nature. But this was really so troubling, my campmates and I decided we needed to go public, and yours truly is the one carrying our collective voice.

I dont know for sure if it was the same camp, but we could hear incredibly distorted/loud music all day/night coming from that direction. Seems about right as we were on D at 4:30.

We were at 415 and C, about 2 camps away from them, and we had 15 or so full trash bags dumped onto us for our steampunk saloon load out.

At least now we have an idea where the garbage came from.

They were obnoxious with their sound system, blasting it till dawn. I don't think they even had anyone monitoring it, they would just put on 4-5 hours of frank sinatra or something inane like that.

we had that issue with a camp at the 3:00 plaza in '05. crappy loud music, no one there, sound system locked in a car. pull wires off the back of the speakers and twist them together...silence is golden

It's a shame too because Sakenoma was a fun place. Their rustic bar was awesome. It was nice of them to bring the foosball table. It was fun until the party was over, and they continued to blast the tunes anyway. Leaving trash is a bad accusation to have to face. Bummer. I hope we all learn from it.

Camp Sakenoma has been bringing SAKE,JOY,VIBES AND FUN to the Northern Nevada desert since you were sitting in your sad dorm room alone, binge eating, and listening to crappy 80's music...

How many people did you and your lame-0, foot rubbing, over 40 camp, serve cold Sake, Crispy Bacon, and Bloodymary's too?

Oh thats right..NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

We spend half of our year in Sonoma California planning or beloved theme camp.
We hold fundraisers. We volunteer at orphanages. We have bake sales. We convene, and re-convene on exactly how to leave a positive mark on the Playa!

For the past several years we have been placed at 530 and A/C. We have created a community there. Last year we were written up in the BLC newspaper as "the go-to place" near center camp to get cold sake. We spend over $1000 on sake every year to give to the people!

Yes, on Tuesday night we played our music into the early morning hours...wanna know why?
We were having a little thing that you obviously know nothing about... FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were visited by a neighbor who asked us to turn the music down, we obliged...END.
A few rangers came by and explained to us that they couldn’t understand why neighbors like YOU would complain about music.

We obliged.


For the next several days we were visited by hundreds upon hundreds of satisfied patrons. Who not only Loved the music we were playing but thanked us profusely for the sake and vibes.

Two Questions for you Flabby Britches.
1. When you were sitting in your quiet, rule abiding camp of judgment and tattletales, were you enjoying yourself as much as we were?

2. At your mandatory 5:30pm camp meeting on how to be a sour lemon, were you wishing you were hanging with us playing fuseball on the table or jumping on the giant trampoline we dragged out to the desert?

Probably yes.

We were having way more fun than you. Making more people smile. Eating one of the many pints of ice cream we were giving away, and spreading around some of the many glow toys we brought as camp gifts.

Oh yea...the 19lbs of bacon we serve during our Bacon and bloodies party...thats right countless bloody mary’s and Bacon for the people of Black Rock City. Apparently you missed that one to.

We carefully mooped our campsite before we left. Believe it or not we are a camp of courteous consciences adults who deeply care about there neighbors.

The “so called” picture of garbage bags and “jars of piss” you posted in this thread was most certainly NOT left by a member of Sakenoma.

Thanks to your unwarranted rhetoric. This “Witch hunt” where you have incited other people to blame dumped garbage on us...shame on you.

We will also be contacting our Placement coordinator to report a clean camp was left and to place us back in our old neighborhood where our Sake and our music is not only welcomed but appreciated.

It appears from your post that because you are so awsome and provide sooo much to the playa you are to be considered above the rules on how loud your music can be. You were first asked by your neighbors to turn your music down, and decided fuck'em they don't know the meaning of fun. then the Rangers had to come and say look i don't want to be the bad guy here so I will pin it on the neighbors and say they just don't know the sound of good music. Anyway i hate to have to tell you but can you turn it down. A picture says a 1000 words and your post says much more. So have some fucking consideration for you neighbors and play your music in the large sound camp area, and pick up your trash. You can count me out for 2014... So I guess that means their post IS effective.

This is as far as I got before deciding you were full of sh*t. Whatever you make think of the op, s/he is not the only one reading this thread. It might have been wiser to try and gain the sympathy of others on this board, rather than underlining the idea that you're a bunch of jerks with your own over-dramatic counter attack.

I don't know when this moop picture was taken, but the last members of our camp left on Tuesday. Meanwhile taking care of any extra trash left behind that the rest of us couldn't fit. To the members of Sakenoma - if my campmates and I were incorrect, and if our neighbors were incorrect, then you have my utmost apologies for wrongfully accusing you of leaving your trash behind. I had left a private message for one of your members yesterday via FB, and he never answered me. If he would have, I would have not hesitated to post a public apology and correction about it immediately.
We did report you to our placement coordinator at the same time we posted here, and I will send an updated message to her right now with a link to your response here, so she has the full story.
If you prefer that this entire thread gets removed, I would agree to that as well, and would ask one of the moderators to remove it.

Here is the letter I just sent to our placement coordinator:

Dear Blackjack,

I learned yesterday afternoon that our camp may very well have been wrong in its accusation of Sakenoma and their trash. One of their virgin members posted on a Facebook group that his truck was in the background of the picture, and that he was the last to leave the camp and took the trash with him.

I had posted the situation on ePlaya, and one of the camp’s leaders replied, obviously very upset. Here is a link: viewtopic.php?f=283&t=62466&p=891730#p891730.

I cannot speak for those who told our camp lead that Sakenoma’s trash and piss were left to them, I can only speak for the picture I took and the assumption my campmates and I made accordingly. And it appears that assumption was wrong.
