I'm wondering if the animals we choose as expressions of our identity actually say anything about us. Am I fishlike? Is Jella a goat? How about all the dogs?

Seems like a good reason to have a few shots of little water.

Pulls Goggles Down Puts Respirator Up covers head with black rap. A voice though the mask… Luke~ I am your Fath~~~ cough cough I mean. One person did seem to sense my presence this year.. would love to see the picture she took. She was not sure why but she quickly felt me there. And pulled out a camera. Smiles~ Fizz Ball…

In an alcove behind the bar shaded by desert camo draped across a pipe frame. Turns on a speaker connected to the main system in side. Sits on an old car seat blocked up to be a couch~ lights an unfiltered Al Capone sweets dipped in cognac takes a tug off his flask~ deep long sigh~ thinks of times with Risky Drinking Whiskey~

Sees an affirmation next to him ..not sure if it’s real Sits down and pulls two bottles of beer from the ice chest next the make shift couch~ reaches down and pulls the razor knife from Risky’s boot~ quickly pops the top on both beers with it. ~ slowly returns Knife to Risky boot at the first sound of a hammer click. Smiles~ Hello Risky ….gives her a kiss on the cheek~~ presses his heart against her heart of gold with a loving hug that lifts her off the ground ~ hands her a beer.

Did anyone see or know much about a particular mutant vehicle, new to me anyhow, shaped like a streamlined squid-like conveyance? (not El Pulpo Mechanico the octopus, which is many things, ..but streamlined it ain't). No, this seemed to be very sleek with tentacle shapes flowing toward the back, with some resemblance to what the "Predator" from the movie might drive on the playa if he were there. It appeared to be very well finished, and was spectacular at night as well. Another very cool effort on someone's part.

*pours another, and wanders over to a dark corner to ponder mutant vehicles for awhile*

There were two of those, BvB, they were camped with and part of the same burner family as the Nautilus (Jules Verne-looking steampunk submarine). Camped between 8:30 and 9:00 on I think B.

*grabs bottle of cognac off back shelf, dusts off and pours 3 fingers, neat*

*looks out at the hitchin post, where Da Mule, first appeared after a ride through the no named desert*
*sees dog bed by fireplace, blue hair around, cat bowl in rafters, full of whiskey, pistol in holster on garter belt, hanging on hook near booth

*raises glass, slams drink, and walks back out*

interesting.........who has tried to make this bar "obsolete"?

I know I post here, I know others do.....we get largely ignored, or over run with music videos and incantations, but, hardly is it not viable.

I think the "freeze" suggestion, was not meant as permanent, but a "pause" to consider how many wonderful pages of history are here..........then rev 'er back up!!

Ahh.. yep, after having the good fortune to meet the owners of Neverwas Haul, I spent a good portion of an afternoon perched on the top open deck, talking to new burner friends, and looking out over the city. One of the fondest memories of my first burn. I hope they are able to continue to bring it out to the playa.

On another note.. I have to admit that losing daBar3 still smarts a bit. A lot of fun jokes, interchanges between folks, compassion for our friends, cool images.. gone. Sure, the friendships remain, and I understand how it could happen, but I would suggest that we should find a way to independently backup some of these threads. This thread, The Bar, perhaps more than any other, as yzom pointed out, has a long heritage of contributions from beloved eplayans. Not to dwell in the past, but these were good times shared among friends, and worthy of safekeeping in my opinion. Certainly it is worthy of continuing forward as well.
