If you were a patron at our bar, or the random lady that told me to 'take a rocket ship to the stars' whilst I was severely inebriated out in the deep playa, or even if you just waved as you rode by on an art car.... What can you do? How about...

1. Don't take photos of feather costumes on playa. Photo-snapping crowds make people (including observers) think they're doing it right.

2. Don't post photos of feather garb on the playa. Stop giving bad ideas to potential newcomers.

3. Post photos of feathers on the playa with a big disclaimer photoshopped on: "What NOT to do at Burning Man!" followed by a brief explanation of why feathers, plants, etc. are bad.

Is that so difficult?

Oh, yeah, you can also not share feather photos. It's a shame to boycott an entire gallery for a few bad examples, though.

Knew I'd get burned for my lazy reply . The 'what can you do' was more about the fact that the pics were mixed in with others that were worth sharing in my friend's gallery. It's a valid point to avoid encouraging them in any way.

I admit I will not go so far as to photoshop words onto a photo, but I've never posted a Burn photo with feathers (to my knowledge) and never will.

This is not to say that I don't laugh when other people do that, because I totally do.
