I need computer help. my cat walked across my computer and now I have no sound on my computer. I've tried going into the control panel and looking up the audio stuff but it seemed to be working, but without sound, if that made any sense. Can anyone help?

Different computers have different shortcuts.
Look for buttons on the computer above the keyboard, if you're on a laptop.
On mine, two on the left are volume up and down and the one to the right of these two is a mute.
It may be another shortcut though.
You may have to reboot.

I did see the rest gyre *hugs* thank you for offering your help. I was in FB getting lots of help too. My kitty happened across my computer again and lo and behold, the sound came back on! I didn't know kitty was a computer geek. I apologize if I came off as ungrateful towards you. It wasn't my intention. I'm not that type of person.

The Lester Dent ones are much better than the ones written by other people.
Some are truly great writing.
