These darling little bustles are made from upholstery samples. Luckily they already had a 'channel' at the top to run the ribbons through. the ribbons with bows keep them gathered up. I used up some old scraps of lace to decorate and long scarves to tie them around my hips. So sexy.

Ratty those bustles are absolutely amazing! I LOVE THEM!!!! I found this adorable pair of "bustle panties" online and they look so easy to make. I have bags upon bags of tulle in every color so my girlfriends and I are going to make a whole bunch and gift them on the playa! If anyone would like a pair just lemme know what size panites you need and I'll keep some aside for you!

So, the other day, I picked up this satin bed cover (pink and cream) at thrift store for $2.99.
I tore one half of it and made it into a bustle and made it so the bustle can be worn with a belt.

Thanks Ratty, it was one end of the bed cover and I didn't want to waste it It really gives option to use belts with varied width.

So, the deal is... I would like to give this bustle away to anyone would like to have it.

I made this so I could try sewing, it's nothing great. I probably would not wear it and I would rather give it to someone who would.
The total width is 53 inches and its really wearable with most belts.
The bustle can be spread out or bunch up in the back as per choice.

That's so generous!! You just reminded me. The lady that 'runs' the kid camp has an all pink camp for herself and other kid campers. I gave her a fluffy pink tutu years ago and now that you've reminded me, I'm gonna make some pink creation for her. I'm following in the footsteps of Wh..sh...Gift, gift, gift.

She would love it. I gave her a tutu for her, (not a kid). She is a full bodied woman and loved that I had something in pink to fit her. If you get a chance, wander around in kids camp. It's pretty amazing. They jump on the trampolines all night. I went to their campfire a couple of nights to see 5 and 10 year olds spinning poi with real fire. I love burning man.

This stretchy denim dress is oh so sexy. I made slits up the front and back, fringed them just enough to be interesting and stop any moop. Then I added big buttons. It fits like a glove cause it's stretchy. Now, where's that big gold hat and silk scaves for my wrists.

Does standard RIT work well on nylon slips, really? Or is it a RIT formulated specifically for synthetics?

I have used RIT a lot, but only ever on natural fibers.

I know there are special dyes for synthetics but I haven't dyed anything in ages. Last thing I did was a wedding dress in blackish green and it was meant to be grotesque so I don't know what the results would be if you were shooting for pretty.

Try http://www.distinctivefabric.com, They give free samples & they are burner friendly... Faux Fur Cheap? usually starts at $8.00 yard for the finer nap that is 1/4 inch thick, known as velboa. The thicker naps (very fuzzy kind) shag & feathers fur can run anywhere from $15 to $30 yard. Check out thrift store to possibibly upcycle fur.
