9:00 Neighborhood camps for 2012

Alright, what camps (registered or otherwise) are planning on camping in the 8ish to 9ish range on the dial? This thread is for camps to announce their locations and intentions… tell us who you are, meet your neighbors!

I was hoping others might go first, but I'll kick things off. My camp (Eridu Society) will be in the 9:00 'hood. We were back on G last year (a few doors down from Distrikt), this year we're going bigger and aiming for Esplanade with a whole new plan… the Fertile Minds Idea Deli and Lofty Thoughts Lounge (ePlaya thread link). We'll be serving up good and bad ideas (as well as everything in between and beyond), heaping helpings of Murphy's Slaw, deli pickles and more.

Aside from us, I believe Distrikt will be back, and Nexus (previously a large scale sound camp) will be moving into the area in their new incarnation. Who else is out there?

Stag Camp associates it's self closely with the 9:00 area. We are firmly committed to locating ourselves in the Red Light district. It's a great part of the city. We are not a placed camp and so will be setting down stakes in the best size appropriate area we can find between 7:30 and 9:00 as close as we can to the Esplanade. We are a no dues no obligations totally RSR camp of participants that camp together for social reasons with some Mini Theme Camps that provide services to participants at large. It's our 6th year on the playa and it's going to be a super amazing year with all the Birgin energy coming our way.

The Green Hour is in the 9-Hood and will be serving cold root beer all day, and absinthe drinks for an hour a day and at random. (There will be a green lantern on when absinthe is being served.)

Our mutant vehicle is The Red Baron and will have a root beer keg onboard, so bring your goggles and a mug!

We will be somewhere near 9:00 and Esplanade or the 9:00 keyhole this year. ACME Exploration Corporation is a new space themed camp this year formed from new and old burners in the northwest region with The Walking Beast, Pyrosaurus and lots of flame effects. Stop by Tuesday evening for our flame effect party or any time, and try out The Super Sit And Speww!!

Those of us in Camp WhoofARTed are planning on camping near 9:00 this year. We'll have an all-day Hydration station, Either an Arrow or Question Mark light on top of a 20-foot scaffold (depends on my abilities to wind-proof the Question Mark idea), Some random Lunchtime food giveaways (all food to make ya fart!), Temporary Tattoos, Three days of Bike Decorating Workshops, some newbie orientation stuff, a Singing Telegram Service (and "Employment Agency" for telegram singers) and our Major Project, Beemah's Bakery:

Beemah's Bakery is a Random Food Delivery Service, delivering fabulous treats such as Pizza and Cinnamon-covered Buttermilk Biscuits to random camps on the playa decided by throwing a suction dart at our plexiglass playa map. Our Delivery drivers will be hustling with bike trailers and tricycles to deliver hot steamy treats to unsuspecting campers!

Howdy neighbors. Mission Country Club anticipates to be back at 9:00 this year likely at/near our spot last year on the 9:00 Portal/Esplanade. We love to meet neighbors during pre-event build session so definitely stop by for some cold whiskey during the too-hot-to-build period of the day. Of course you can drop by anytime during the event as well...

Our bar and chill spaces will be open throughout the week plus we'll be hosting a handful of events, including:

Wednesday 12PM-2PM - Brian Brunch - Waffles, Playa Balls(TM), pretentious ice coffee served while honoring all the Brians of the world.

Wednesday 7PM-9PM - Sunset Party at Zonotopia - Opening party for BM Art Grant recipient Zonotopia and the Two Trees. We do this joint party with the Zonotopia crew every year, since half our camp is also in the Zonotopia build crew. We bring out a grill, bar, sound system, fire dancers, etc. and inaugurate the art project usually by climbing all over the structures to see if any break (so far so good!)

Thursday at 4:20 - Sangria Soundclash Party - Now in our 8th year, biggest salsa dance party on the playa. We serve 50 gallons of home-made sangria while playing salsa, merengue, cumbia, and the occasional reggaeton.

ONiON plans to be back this year with a new onion shaped dome. Last year we were just off the 9:00 plaza on B.
We'll be offering cigars, libations and shit talk. You only have to accept two out of three.

Our camp has nothing to do with glowsticks or blowjobs....Just saying

I just received word from Placement, Eridu Society will be at 8:30 & Esplanade, bringing out the Fertile Minds Idea Deli. Our 'frontage' will be on 8:30, with Esplanade being the nearest cross-street.

We'll still be bringing the Dome Bar and possibly a maze entrance again this year. and of course all our games and stencils...

Not a named camp, just me and a friend. We're definitely partial to the 9:00 neighborhood though...looking forward to visiting all of your camps!

Chop Shop, the playa's #1 bicycle repair camp will be @ 3:15 in the 9:00 plaza. In addition to bike repair, we offer welding and fabrication and mutant vehicle repair.

Come by and say howdy, or pick up some tools and help us wrench!

WhoofARTed is officially at 9:15/B. Good to know there's a bike repair camp nearby, we've got some bike decoration events and all We'll have a great big question mark high in the sky (20ft) to guide everyone home, even after the man and temple burn.

We are bringing back The Walking Beast this year as well as the Flamboni and some new fire breathing sculptures (pyrosaurus and the atmosphereic converter) stop by and ride the Super Sit and Spewww!!!

I'm happy to announce that The Bureau of Misinformation will be rocking 9 o'clock again this year! We've moved to a bigger space to make room for all our bullshit, so this year you can find us at 9 & G. Just listen for the lunatic on the megaphone, forcing unsuspecting playa folk to take shots out of flavored condoms. Yeah, that happens..

SK8 KAMP, Black Rock City's Skatepark is back this year bigger and better located at SK8:30 AKA Esplanade and 8:30. Parties Wed-Fri at Sunset, Wednesday: Thrashfest, Thursday - Kostume SK8, Friday - Best Trick Contest. Plus, Chick SK8 Hour with complimentary Utili-tits (time TBD), Tag your Shit Booth, and lots of Piskeys!
