But that's just me.

So what if it'll never be the same again? Objects are meant to be used, not worshipped.

Or, depends on the person. I don't buy anything without the intent to use it. Otherwise it's just gathering dust and being useless and why bother buying it?

I agree with Brody here, what is the point of buying or makeing a machine that sits around gathering dust in a back yard or shop somewhere. It is a lot more fun to use the equipment where more peolpe can see and enjoy it. Vehicles where built to be used not just sit there for fear of damaging it, but not everyone see's it that way.

moonrise wrote:Your Yammi may or may not need a dust snorkel. I'd have a good mechanic (preferably one familiar with playa dust) look into the air intake.
If the fresh, clean air intake (air box) is in a bad spot, such as pointing down toward the playa, then this could be the year to have a dust snorkel installed.
moonrise wrote:Dust snorkel or not, I would bring several new air filters and get familiar with the process of opening the air box and replacing the clogged air filter with a new one.
You can also extend the life of an air filter by banging it against something solid (the tire) to clean the dust out.
