when do tickets get maild out?

when do tickets get maild out?

Postby xhoosier » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:43 am

I know that tickets are being mailed out in June. I am just trying to find out when in June. I am leaving on a two week trip on June 29 and with my luck the tickets will arrive after that date. If we do not sign for them they will be returned, right? This would really screw up my year!

Does anyone know??

thanks

Is it still possible for him to change the address to that of a trustworthy friend who will be around?

In 2011, I purchased my ticket on Jan. 19th. On Feb. 13, 2011, I took a pic of that ticket on my kitchen counter. 25 days between POS and ticket in hand. I have no fucking clue what the problem is this year.

It's not a "problem". It's a strategy to cut down on counterfitting. If you consider it a problem, that's your choice.

You can't use the tickets yet anyway.

I would take the issue up with my local post office, if I were in this position. They allow people to forward US mail or hold mail when on vacation; they likely have a recommendation on what to do with a piece of mail that requires a signature while you're out of town.

(Unless advised otherwise, I would probably try to have my mail held. Forwarding could get messy.)

Gosh, and there were tickets still available for sale at this time of year last year too! What ever could have happened?!

Perhaps reading through posts in the ticket forums from the past year could (fucking) clue you in?

USPS INFO ABOUT ACCOUNTABLE MAIL:

Accountable Mail (item requiring a signature):

If no one is available when the delivery is attempted the first time, the letter-carrier will leave a PS Form 3849, Delivery Attempt Notice.
This form notifies the addressee that an article is being held for them at the Post Office and will be available for pick-up the following business day.
The addressee also has the option to have the item redelivered; it will not be done automatically.
Five days after the first notice is left, a second delivery notice will be left.
This item will be held for a number of days based on the specific service (usually 15 days).
If it is not claimed, the item will be returned to the sender.

Savannah hit the nail on the head. Have the post office hold your mail while you are on your trip and you will be fine.

word of advice: if it looks like the picture above when youre driving a nail you probably need:

1. a new hammer
2. new nails
3. maybe both
4. none of the above: youre on the playa and everything has a thick coat of playa on it

Maybe they're just smashing a jawbreaker positioned on top of a nail.
