Oh people are definitely going to try and climb up your slide. It's like showing that you can conquer a mountain.
You have three ways to prevent that from happening:
- 1) Somebody who babysits the exit to stop people from going up the slide. This will be boring for whomever has to do it.
- 2) Having an exhibit/art piece that is busy enough that enough people will be going down the slide to make anyone want to go up it.
- 3) Adding one-way "traffic spikes" to your slide.
I don't think #3 will be an option.
What I would do is just
accept and allow people to climb up the slide--if it not busy enough to prevent it. What harm is there in it? The only problem with people going up the slide is if people are going down. Oh, and maybe people scratching your slide with their shoes--so make sure you have a nice
metal slide. Maybe even provide a piece of burlap for people to use to slide down. People can hand it back up to the people at the top.
