I found some that I can't locate again.

I have only found it annoying for the end of series one.

Irréversible, a French movie that is a decade old now, and ranks on my personal list as one of the top five movies to come out in the first decade of this century. The film is in a style similar to Memento, following the characters in reverse chronological order.

This film isn't for everyone, within minutes of the opening you will witness an extremely violent beating of a man. Also at another point in the film you will see a main character be raped. In part what makes this film good is the single shot cinematography used that adds to how realistic, and ultimately disturbing these scenes are.

The story is sort of lacking, with much of it improved on the spot by the actors. You can take it as spotty work in only coming up with a four page outline for the whole movie. Or take it like I did, and think about how unremarkable real conversations are with friends on a Friday nights outing.

The film got a 56% on rotten tomatoes, in part because of what I wrote above. Also because of goofs such as, at one point in the film one of the actors calls the other actor by his real name, and during the rape scene a passerby walked into the shooting area and then out. (Ironically adding more depth to the scene.)

This one is in my queue, but I am too timid to approach any movie around "rape" subject, especially European ones, which are very real!

There are so many good movie makers across the globe!! I remember starting to track the movies I watched, liked, and recommend on google docs with one of my friends.
It's been a while since I updated that but if anyone is interested, I could share it. It's an eclectic mix of movies in various languages and subjects.

Edit: I just went back to check my list. I watched about 150 + movies just last year!!! It was also a phase when I was seriously considering screenplay writing

I've seen all of Skins that netflix has on disc so far, four of seven seasons.

I want to recommend it unequivocally.
A great show.

I followed up with the nearest usa equivalent, Freaks N Geeks.
Due to us censorship and Skins being channel four, the contrast is dramatic, but as I watch more, it becomes clear that they wanted to do what Skins does, but can only suggest it.
In fact, the third episode was pulled by nbc for sex and violence, more unpleasantness, i think.
The contrast between tv as wish fulfillment or showing reality was the conflict the network had.
There are many episodes that didn't air originally, as well as deleted parts.
There are 36 hours of commentary!!!
And not boring.
You can learn quite a bit about film production from some commentaries, from discussions about when and where to cross the line with the camera, to selling a production.

There is a follow up series called Undeclared.

My favorite line from Skins?

"I love you more than cheese!"

My favourite movie of all time: City of Lost Children (La cité des enfants perdus). Lovely cinematography, likeable protagonists, delightfully despicable villains, captivating story, extreme quirkiness. Watch it in french, with subtitles. The overdubbed version is very disappointing.

I finished John From Cincinnati.
David Milch is a genius.
It's very unsatisfying that the series was cut short, but a unique experience still.

I can't really describe it, but art and commerce aren't house fighting house, but part of modern communication.
Miracle and marketing can go together, according to Milch.
What could be done with the modern machinery, used with heart?

Worth seeing.
Not everyone will like it.

Don't skip the commentaries.
