I learned all about tautology in my high school American history class. The teacher was always right because the book from which he derived his answers was correct in every case. Circular logic was encouraged at every step, as was a blind adherence to the dictatorial dictates of austere authority, not to mention unwavering worship of each golden syllable which acidly dripped from the instructor's lips. Any attempt at independent thought was sarcastically quashed with a zeal usually reserved for the drunken cheering of victorious major league sports teams. Thus was I perfectly prepared for a career in Right Wing Talk Radio.

I disagree with your conclusion. In my opinion, it is incorrect.

The sweet potato, Ipomoea batata, is a member of the Convolvulaceae or morning glory family. The "regular" potato, Solanum tuberosum, is a member of the Solanaceae or nightshade family. Therefore, the two species are not related.

The correct answer is rutabaga. See the Triangle of U (below) for further explication.
