junglesmacks wrote:Eric.. you have a serious gift for copy writing. Have you ever thought of doing it freelance as a more serious endevour? Not to derail.. but.. seriously. I know how much we paid someone just to write blurbs on the front and back of all our shampoo and lotion bottles.

I can appreciate that you don't like Huffington Post in general, but what do you find objectionable with that article and them posting it in particular? I just don't understand your comment.

Okay, I'll leave the detestable Arianna Huffington and her online HTML clusterfuck of a trivia aggregator out of it.
Let's say you, Mister Jkisha, Doctor of Journalism, were in the author's position.
Would you *sell* an article about Burning Man to a worldwide news feed? Why?
Would you author something entirely based on other people's original work? Why?
If you knew anything first-hand about Burning Man, and the incident, and purported to be a responsible journalist, wouldn't you want to present a well-rounded and well-researched take on all the issues involved, and maybe add something new rather than simply aggregating a few crumbs of stale tidbits? Why not?

Full disclosure, I'm still a little chaffed that they blasted Teddy's video on their homepage during the middle of ticket registration (while there were a number of factors, the impact of HP's homepage feature is the main reason why so many are ticketless this year).

That would cut the number of clueless lottery entries down dramatically and allow more of our friends to make it to the playa.
