The point is a moot one.

To gift a ticket in expectation of some tangible return or expectation of a reward of reciprocation taints the whole idea - as I understand it.

Doing it in such a way taints the giving - or the releasing of it - in such a way as to attach a... shadow to it.

If you're gonna do it then do it without any conditions attached.

Otherwise, stop the pretense of being magnanimous and just hawk it on Craig's List like every other schmo who thinks s/he's doing the world a favor.

If I was flush with cash (and had an extra), I would gift a ticket to one of my friends. Possibly a virgin. But more likely to a friend that couldn't afford to go otherwise.
