Again... I am so, uh, frugal with my time, I cook up a few pounds at home, put it in the freezer (a perk of even an ancient motorhome --- as well as ice cream) and leave the grease there. Very little grease when I heat it for us on the playa. And, yes, it does taste bacony... And if you chop it up real fine, mix it with said ice cream and pour maple syrup on it... God, food for only the most worthy playa gods...

Last night I poured about a quarter cup of bacon grease into a big pot of pea soup. Nothing like it!

Reuse it for cooking, fuel, or burning but please do not throw it out thats just plain wonky.

am i the only person who eats pan wilted greens? kale, spinach, snow pea leaf all taste awesome coated in bacon grease.

I second pre-cooking; get it just how you like it, then vaccuum seal it in smaller pouches and freeze or refrigerate... that way you can just throw it in a pot of boiling water to heat, cut open and voila!

Make yourself some wilted spinach salad with hot bacon grease and balsamic vinegar. It's really the only way to enjoy spinach salad.

Knowing that I am being repetitive here I wanted to clarify that it is OK to put bacon grease in a burn barrel? I was under the impression that nothing goes in here but wood, and after searching the BM main website I was still a little unclear.

I'm bringing a lot of bacon... :)
