COLLIDISCOPE 2012 (March 7-10), is a 4 day Burning Man Regional event and interactive art festival near Laie, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, including a 20' effigy, fire art, performance, music, art installations, theme camps, and more. Come prepared to camp, Radically Express yourself, make connections, and LEAVE NO TRACE. It says that it is an alcohol free event, and that does not mean that they will be giving out free drinks. Maybe a sober Burning Man event somewhere would be a good thing so that people who enjoy that sort of thing will have that available to them.

As you can imagine, land to do such an event is scarce on Oahu.The owner of the land has requested a drug and alcohol free event. So, should you decide not to participate in the request: please be discreet.

How much room do you need?
Every luau has a fire performer and we know about pakalolo, so don't let them mess with you.

I have heard from several people and we will hold a fire safety class on Thursday, March 1st at 6:30 pm, before Fire Jam at Kaka'ako Park (at the end of Cooke St.). Plan on staying for the fire jam and we will have a "test" when you safety for the fire spinners. Bring drinks or snacks or whatever you may want for a long evening. You must be unaltered and sober to participate. Wear natural fiber clothing (cotton, silk, hemp) NO SYNTHETIC MATERIAL CLOTHING WILL BE ALLOWED. (We will cover why in the class.) Plan on having to stand for a while, so wear appropriate shoes. There is NO CHARGE FOR THIS CLASS. Feel free to pass this information to anyone else who is interested. You will learn about fire safety for performers, learn to use a fire extinguisher, and how fire works. See ya all there!
