The Pony Girl Express is a theme camp that caters to the kinky delivery system on Playa.
Would you like your letters delivered by beautiful girls and hansome men dressed as ponies and wearing harnesses and bridles "driven" by friendly handlers/postal delivery people? It's quite a sight and everyone we vistied last year on our routes loved the spectacle! We had many repeat customers.
Ponies were treated to carrots and bacon.
We would love to carry your letters or parcels to where ever on the playa they need to go. Our pick up and delivery times are in the morning before it gets too hot for the ponies to be out. They are frisky and playful to be out in the cool of the early hours. However if you are a camp with a plan for getting things from location A to location B on a daily basis we can work with that too.
If you would like to just come by and see the wonder that is the Pony Girl Express please do. We have a lovely stable and a paddock where we will have scheduled events like course jumping and other skill tests for our best steeds. We love to have an audience. They are such show offs.
We had excellent coverage last year and will have the same post boxes out again this year emblasoned with the now famous Pony Girl Express logo on the sides. You may find these placed at the 3, and 9 o'clock plasa, the Post Office in center camp and also right in front of our camp. Each box has a pen and spiral notebook inside so you can write a letter, address it with the name of the recipient, their camp or location where we can find them. We will do our best to get it right into their hand as that has the best effect and makes us the happiest.
We love Burningman and we love our Playa family. We hope to see you out there and if you see one of our teams stop us and say hello. Give the team some sugar.

One of the "teams" stopped by Stag Camp to deliver an email message from one of our camp mates who could not make it. It was AWESOME!!!!! I got to feed the pony girl trail mix from my hand while sitting in the Bondage Barber Chair! It was so great I nearly had an aneurism.

I was that team pony and I remember your camp. So sad to be at Burningman and missing someone who could not come. I am so happy that our service provided you words from them. This was a special case letter as we don't usually carry off playa mail. We had asked the Black Rock City Post Office if we could deliver some of their mail for them and this letter happened to be in the ones they gave us. You were a special memory for me and I loved the treats fed to my by loving Burners. You and your camp rock and we will see you this year as well!

Wohoo! Playa serendipity in action! I'm super glad that chain of events brought you guys to our camp. I'll be looking out for the stable and if any of your ponies need harness repair I'll be bringing minimal leather working tools, leather and some hardware as well as my normal welding and repair stuff.

If you have any interest in being a handler for the Pony Express you would be most welcome. We have a great stable of happy ponies and always could use a few more good hands on the reins. In 2004 I tried to see EVERYTHING, every piece of art, every art car, I even went down every street. I got home and saw scores of pictures and videos of things I never saw. To say it is impossible to see everything is just common sense. Now if you saw nothing at all, THAT would be sad....

So... I have no idea what I've gotten into. I just stumbled across a web site called Playadex where some Englishman asked for help with these "pony" carts because they wouldn't fit in his airline luggage, and I remembered seeing this thread, and I keep tripping over Stuff like bicycles and whatnot in my barn, and I figured I might as well slap some of that Stuff together into a cart or two. No guarantee of function or reliability, so I hope somebody else builds these also.

Update. I only have time and energy to finish the one cart, so I hope somebody else is building one also. Now, where are you folks camping, so I can deliver it? I'm not placed this year, but I'm thinking I'll be between 3:30 and 5:30, and quite far out in the alphabet. If you are not placed either, I can post a picture of my bus and you can look for that. Time to get our ducks in a row!
