2012 Theme Camp - Sun Guardians - Male, Art, Yoga, Spirit

Sun Guardians is an assembly of an idea to combine some really passive masculine energy into something really powerful and dedicated to the heart, soul, mind. Largely fraternal and non-sexual based it is a focus on the masculine and elevating that through yoga and art.

[b]Art:[/b] When we get together the tribe/collective should be prepared or prepare to make some creative endeavor/project together that can be accomplished passively through the span of the gathering. This could include clay, paper-mache, wood, metal or any other media that does not contribute to MOOP (Matter Out Of Place or pollution). Participants do not have to engage in primary roles of the project and there is no mandatory participation. Individuals are encouraged to bring projects for personal growth or collaboration. Art is the key to expression and having an open energy like that will give us the chance to connect. Another level of connection is the use of yoga in collaboration with art.

[b]Yoga:[/b] The practice of yoga is individual, but group practices can be very invigorating. Yoga itself is a tuning of the Chakras. Ever hear someone say “he needs to open his heart” or “he needs to open his mind”? These are relevant statements. Depending on the level of practice, a well led class can build a bridge between strangers that goes beyond physicality and beyond sexuality. Far too many people get lost on the surface and never get deeper.

[b]Spirituality:[/b] Where Art allows for the expression of oneself and can free a person of expression, Yoga but it’s nature as an individual practice allows for the freedom to perform at your best free of judgement of others; yoga in couples situations gives the participants an ability to surrender from the fear of building a connection in a social environment but build in the connection of another level.

[b]Sexuality:[/b] This is not an issue of sexual orientation and therefore not about the physical act. Do not confuse the carnal act with a connection. Too many people cannot separate things like nudity, proximity, physical contact and more for the initiation of sexual gratification. That kind of gratification is in the moment and is an empty, mistaken sense of fulfillment that is temporary.

This is not religion. This is a state if spiritual being where you are allowed to find your inner light and magic brightened by like minded people around you.

More information on the page including the commitment form http://www.sunguardians.net/event-planning/bm-2012-camp at the bottom of this page. We are seeking approximately 30 to 40 members inclusively and members of the collective that will step up and b leaders when needed.

One aspect of this camp that is important is that it should not be overly intense and the people who are active in the collective are proactive and desire to see the success of the camp. A coupe of events/fundraisers will also support nthTribe.net for art funding.

Yes, we are looking for male/male spirited participants and are actively engaged in preparing for membership/participation ... we will be having our third meeting today when we are finally getting into the core of our decision making. If you have visited our site you will see a temple erected in the desert with a lot of amazing activities planned through the day including yoga classes, art workshops, and spirituality all around the male energy.

We are radically inclusive and are ardent supporters of the 10 principles. Anyone joining us MUST be familiar with the 10 Principles and honor them and repsect fellow camp mates irregardless of sexual orientation. We do anticipate a largely gay/bi male and trans male population and encourage men of any orientation that are comfortable with themselves to join us and help make this collective work.

2. Leadership: who we are, why we are: because it is a little different than the typical Burning Man 'no one's in charge idea': EXCEPT!!!! That the camp is still a collective and consensus is still key to community; a democracy and a do-acracy....

3. Camp Fees: Please review and let's talk; keep in mind we will be providing water and food for general consumption for the week; a kitchen for use and producing 2 camp dinners; producing 2 or 3 camp parties hosting the general community. - Let's talk about that...

4. Excesses v. Things you need: Talk to me! Having our own toilets is a luxury someone suggested we might not need. Keep in mind each toilet will be $1000 minimum and we will need a minimum of 2 JUST for SG campers.

This is our first major meeting and we need to star building our presence.

The idea is bringing like-minded people into a tribe/collective. We will endeavor to create events where we can leave a positive foot-print in the future. The foot-print is a spiritual influence and a vibration by the affect of our practice as individuals and as a group. The camp will look a lot like a temple when it is built.
