I think we are feeding on a red herring..
By the time the traffic gets to Gerlach some has already turned north.
Maybe we should stop with this knee jerk, and think it through. What is the real problem?
Unjon's onto something...
Previous to last year's event there was quite a bit of road construction happening in the Empire area, they DO have to do maintenance just like anywhere else. It's hotter than Hades in the summer and exactly the opposite in the winter, freezing cold! Extremes are difficult on roadways.... They probably barely have the budget to keep the road safe let alone widen it.
Anyway, knee jerk, what's really wrong?
The Popularity. Supply/Demand, Guns/Butter, Liquor/Beer.... Why is it so popular?
Because it's awesome. Seems the population already grew pretty quickly just by world of mouth over the years - but add to that these viral Dr Seuss videos and all? Am I the only person that thinks this awareness might ruin Burning Man?
Keep your traps shut. Even bringing one friend will lead to a population explosion - do you really need to post your pictures and videos online to show everyone how cool you are?
I'm guilty, I brought one person in nearly a decade, so I'm as guilty as anyone, but this video mass marketing bullshit has got to stop.
