I haven't heard this discussion yet, but it popped into my head early this morning.
Maybe this is exactly what The Hat, and the rest wanted to happen. Remember its Cacophony roots? Maybe they thought their party in the desert was becoming to predictable, with the same camps, artists, MV's, etc in the same places and with long timers expecting the same things year after year.
Maybe, just maybe this is the shake up they were trying to achieve.
Things have to change (and this is coming from somebody who absolutely hates change) I mean can you imagine the uproar that would've happened if they said "hey we're moving the event to a location X miles away." Well, remember THEY DID! and now that we've all become comfortable with where it is, it is expected. And maybe to the Heads, it's boring and they want to change their party up again.
My girlfriend brought me back to earth when I was blah, blah, blahing about how this year is going to blow without the mega camps, and the art isn't going to be huge, or that 7/8th of our camp won't be there, etc..and she reminded me, "no expectations"
