Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread

Unfortunately, there are not enough tickets to go around. This thread is for those who were not awarded tickets in the main sale to post and vent their frustrations, get it out of their system, and for others to offer their condolences.

Please do remember, there are still options. STEP (the Secure Ticket Exchange Program) will launch on 22nd of February, and the secondary sale begins on 28th of March with 10,000 additional tickets. We'll be posting information regarding scammers and scalpers shortly (in the meantime, please remember that nobody will have actual tickets to sell until June).

Yes, all 40,000 tickets have been awarded and confirmations sent out to those individuals. Emails are going out now to those who did not receive tickets.

Last year I spent 6 hours refreshing my computer and had 1 ticket, I was able to start planning my trip , this year with this new bright and wonderful idea, I spent almost 24 hours refreshing my email box, I have 0 ticket and I won't start planning my trip! Yay! BRC is no longer my home, how can I call a place home if the access is denied to me?

Yeah, we didn't have enough on the card at the time of getting remotely charged.. and I think we lost out.

There are other options this year, and probably better that I didn't spend the $3-4K that I normally do on
building out the art car/camp etc.

I feel like after this lotto artificially increased demand so that instead of 5-10% of people having difficulty obtaining tickets the actual number is probably closer to 50%, the STEP program had better be awesome. If it sucks, well, its hard to respect a system you've lost faith in, and stubhub is pretty efficient.

there will be a STEP program with info announced in not-so-long (well before the event) that will be able to get the tickets distributed to more people.. (for reals!!!)

and then 10,000 tickets..

then ...other places.. and friends. and gifts..

not everyone getting a 'not awarded' will 'not be going'... there is hope, just.. hang in there..

we knew coming in to 2012 that not every person may end up with a ticket..

but there is still plenty of time left, programs setup to get the 'extras' to you, plus a sale of 10,000 coming up..

Good thing my camp has been having fundraisers non-stop for the past 2 months... We went 0-5 on this fucking piece of shit lottery. We'll find a way to the burn one way or another, but goddamn this is some bullshit.

Not frustrated, just a little bummed.
Was hoping to take care of the ticketing now and spend more time on the long term planning, but this doesnt change much.
We'll wait for STEP instructions and/or put in for the March sale.

Well well well - yeah, that "lottery" system worked well.
Essentially what we will see is that the scalpers will take advantage of the "tourists" that just want to show up in a funny hat, bring some ecstasy, oggle the sorority girls, leave an immense amount of trash behind and hurry to catch their carbon spewing plane back to some megalopolis far far away from the the Black Rock.
The groups of Burners that used to work together for months to create a special experience will now be fractured into the "haves" and "have nots" - the teams that cooperated for months on bringing exceptional art and other participatory projects will no longer be able to come together and experience the joy of planning and building something together to share with like minded energetic and creative folks.

The organizers have FRACTURED the collaborative spirit of BMan and left the remains for the Tourists and Ravers.

I would encourage those that were volunteers and contributors to abandon BullshitMan and seek out other events that remain true to the spirit of volunteerism, random acts of artistic endeavor and collaboration with other artists.
