Since nobody has gotten tickets, that means that nobody hasn't gotten tickets, either. I love the fact that everybody has already condemned to process, and are pissed off about not getting tickets, even though they don't know if they got tickets or not.

If you want to know what's wrong with Burning Man, it's not the ticket process, the newbies, the frat boys or the rave camps. It's the death of the 'can-do" do-ocracy mindset, and its replacement by the kind of hand-wringing and pre-emptive boo-hooing you see here everyday. If you put your faith in a third party bureaucracy to make you happy, you'll be disappointed every time.

nearly all of the hand wringing and solutions only serve to deal with the specific problems individuals see as being a barrier between them and 100% guarantee of a ticket


until you can be 100% sure that everyone can get a ticket people will come up with all kinds of solutions that work to remove the barriers they see as blocking them from being guaranteed a ticket



(also, some people are merely pissed off that they might have to use a secondary market.. and their solutions work to remove barriers between them and a 100% guarantee that theyll get a ticket from the LLC itself, rather than a scalper/hoarder/STEP program/secondary market)

Only the real burners will go home. It's biased I tell you. But endless, heavy rains would cause flash floods. Those who bring a houseboat/trailer combo will fare the best.

They'll run them in batches right to the VI, MC, DI, and AX servers. They can do hundreds at a time.

Call it what you want.When someone says go to your happy place my mind goes to the playa.This year because some fools idea that this will be better way to sell tickets,I have to count on luck to go to my happy place.Even jack rabbit speaks says we are fucked on the ticket sales because there are more ticket requests than tickets.So they say we can then buy tickets from fellow burners at face value.The key here to this false logic is all the tickets will be bought by the burner community.Is your bull shit alert going off too.This only happens once a year for a week in the world.So if i sound upset and bitter its because i am anytime someone tries to take away my happy place.

Again. There are more people who want to go than there are tickets to sell. This is the llc's best guess (although "guess" implies that they didn't do research, or spend time thinking about different ways, and that is misleading, maybe "informed guess" would be better) of how to make sure that the maximum number of tickets end up in the hands of "burners" rather than with scalpers. It's silly to allow people to take away your inner peace, when it is inside you, and it's silly to not understand something that is causing you pain.

I have never posted on here before, just kept tabs on the comings and goings on the board pre burning. But after what has happened to me in the last 24 hours, I feel this is the only place I can vent. Yesterday afternoon, the lovely people at Amex called me, asking about strange purchases on my card. They were not mine. Someone had got a hold of my card details. I was then told my card would have to be cancelled, even after begging them to leave it open (understandbly they had to cancel the card). So now, because of this ridiculous lottery and because of how late in the day it is, I will not be able to get both mine and my friends ticket at a possibly reduced rate. Livid does not even come close to describing how I feel!!!! My card is blocked, if BM try to take money, it will decline...I will not get my tickets now. First come, first serve....WHAT ON EARTH IS WRONG WITH THAT METHOD?!?!?!? You have your details, the site opens, you buy tickets and you're done!!!! I am so unbelievable gutted and its not only my ticket, but its also my friends....I wish like others, we had both requested tickets now like so many others, that way we could at least stand a chance at getting hold of some.
