Ticketing Request

Did anyone else receive an email from ticketing asking you to re-submit to verify if you're using Mac or pc?
I called them and they said it was a random survey, not to worry. Well now my sweetie got the same notice too late.
Neither of us re- submitted and I called them again today and they told me if we didn't re-submit, We're out of luck.
Does this seem fair or real?
