Smackdown! GPE v. Greeters

I figure that the reason so many burners can't tell them apart (or maybe you're not a burner unless you can tell them apart) is that there hasn't been a battle royale in thunderdome. So, here it is, will Gate, Perimeter and Exodus win with their mighty smighty power, or will it be Greeters, the Ghandis of playa friendliness?

Well, this is a conundrum.

The greeters clearly have the advantage here, as most of the GPE uses geritol.

Is this gonna be a tagteam event?

I think of it this way: Greeters are essentially the cheerleaders of the Playa. They jump up and down and yell happy things for no apparent reason. Yeah they might be interesting to watch for half a second, but then the fascination is over.

Gate peeps on the other hand are always interesting to look at, and if you let them do their job, you are searched and torn in a matter of minutes, minus the hours it took to get up there. Plus if you're real lucky you might just get a heart-felt "Fuck You," from Naked Bob. Now what, I ask beats that?

I think the first challenge would be prying GP&E out of the Black Hole to make it over to Thunderdome. All greeters needs to do is whiskey bomb the Hole and win by not having anyone there to fight them.

Of course, that is discounting Death Guild's reaction to a bunch of Greeters showing up and trying to hug them.

The first go around at the range we were able to write our names and calibers around the holes.
But after the second and third go around, there was no place to write as it was so shredded.

Punishment was working a Greeter shift one night.
No one was hugged during that shift.

I can't speak for all Greeters, but I really don't want to greet someone who doesn't want it, nor am I a natural hugger. Those who assume the position, however, receive one.

I can't speak for all Greeters, but I really don't want to greet someone who doesn't want it, nor am I a natural hugger. Those who assume the position, however, receive one.

I have no problem with greeters, really I don't. But when I am in BRC for 3 weeks and am returning to the city from a supply run, I just want to get back to my camp. I always try to head for the open lane, but have had greeters stop me anyhow - and get upset when I don't want to play
