Spaghetti Western Camp fed spaghetti (and showed Westerns! on a nice big screen) to folks in 2000, I think it was. They also wore cowboy/cowgirl outfits in white with red accessories, most memorably red fur chaps. This was my first Burn, so it was particularly amazing to me.

Now, I don't know if they made their own sauce or not, but if not, this would be an especially easy playa meal to make . . . boiling water, a little salt, pasta, & sauce from regular or Costco-sized jars. Maybe some Parmesan. (Fresh grated would be amusing, if troublesome). Jars of sauce are obviously shelf-stable . . . you don't have to chill anything unless there are leftovers. One must be very conscientious with the glass (or find alternatives), and of course get a license from the health dept if serving the public.

Pasta has to be boiled a few minutes longer in playa elevation (the Burning Man site lists the playa both at 3,905 and 4,000 feet) and should be tested for tenderness before serving. This site says that pasta that would take 7 minutes at low elevation would take 9 or 10 minutes at a place over 3,000 feet.

You could cook a hot tin foil stew in your engine compartment on the drive out, then have hot food for the line at the gate.

I've done a delicious roast beef on my engine before! It was soooo goood!

Actually, if you wrap the food well in foil, it won't taste fume-y. Heavy duty foil is a must, regular foil just isn't thick enough.
