This Year's theme sucks.

Fertility 2.0 - Black Rock City is a kind of Petri dish. Theme camps cling in fertile clusters to its latticework of streets, artworks tumble out of it, like pollen on the air. These nodes of interaction mutate, grow and reproduce their kind. Burning Man communities have now escaped this capsule world: our culture in a Petri dish has effloresced - it spreads across five continents. This year's art theme contemplates the tendency of any being or living system to create abundant life.

I have to agree with you. I was getting cozy with the idea of "Defaultia" and the takes that could made on it.

The theme hasn't first been announced on Eplaya for many years BOB, this year is no exception.

Rendering is forthcoming, expect the Man to finally have a Penis this year.

I'm just glad this year's theme doesn't have the word Change, Hope, or Occupy in it.

Those three words are officially DEAD TO ME.

(This isn't a political viewpoint. I've just heard those three words so much in a political fashion that they've lost any meaning to me.)

According to the official Bman timeline there was no theme for 1997. On the page for 1997 it says the theme was "Mysteria". The first "official" theme was 1998.

I've submitted an edit to wikipedia.
