1. We actually have toned it down a bit over the past few months. There is a definite "welcome wagon" group of people who go into the introduction threads and say hello. And you can still remind us and reassure the newbs that our bark is worse than our bite.

As of 11:39pm PDT on 6 Oct 2011 the member count for the board is 32521. I would bet less than 20% are active, and probably 5-10% even post semi-regularly. The active posters are probably only 1-2% of that. Compare that to the 50,000+ at the event itself, almost all actually involved. You are correct that we are not exactly a busy forum.

Just remember that you are part of ePlaya now- everyone who posts (and lurks) is. If you are unhappy with the way people are welcomed, by all means jump in and welcome them. The board has gotten much better since the ticket melt-down, and we've added a lot of new posters since the Burn this year- all things that bode well for the future.
