How about a "Like" button

Postby jkisha » Wed Oct 05, 2011 9:17 pm

No, no, no. Not a Facebook like button, just a plain old "I like this post like button".

Not sure if this one allows for liking an individual post or if it is only for liking the entire thread. But being able to like an individual post would be da bomb!

You could like a thread here (just internal to eplaya). Not like the FB like button that would post your like on Facebook.

You can filter who sees what on FB, here you can't

The difference makes it even worse here.

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at.

There are times here that someone posts something that I like, but don't necessarily want to comment further on. So, if there were a "like" button on the post, it would be easy for me (and everyone else, of course) to just click on the "like" button, should they so choose.

So how does filtering fit in this picture?

I don't think ePlaya really needs to add 'popularity contest' functionality. Besides, with the gratuitous use of socks by some it wouldn't take long before the numbers were meaningless.

So jkisha You know you can bookmark you favorite threads. Or did u want to be able to bookmark or "like" a post. As in an example if someone said something cleaver or funny you could just "like" that post.... maybe we should call it something else - such as maybe a favorite button and it could be a little star.

I could see how that would be convenient.

Then under your profile you could see all the post that you starred/favorited.

I am aware of the bookmark feature, but use it sparingly.
Yup, i was thinking it would be convenient too, but the idea doesn't appear to be all that popular here.
