Welcome to the House of Joyous Thunder. At the 2012 burningman we will be a very large theme camp (We are looking for 50 or more) coming together to celebrate the joys of percussion. We will be inviting world class drummers and those who have never hit a beat. The idea is for the experienced folk to help those who need instruction so that everyone can join in the music.

The camp will have a very large shaded area with rugs and pillows to encourage the creation of spontaneous music. There will be room for both tent and RV camping. It will be placed in a location where drumming is not only appropriate but encouraged 24 hours a day! Classes for all levels will be arranged to encourage more participation.

Ideally this theme camp will be placed along the esplanade so that larger drum circles can spill across into the open playa as needed. In a camp this large we will welcome both those who will bring their own supplies and those who will join together in a collective kitchen.

The most important thing is to make this burningman a week of celebration of all forms of percussion and instruments that support percussion. To help one and all alike to feel the power of the drum, and to let souls soar.

That was what was missing from 2011... Lots of drums at OCF and Darling Ranch, but there were hardly any at the burn.

Sounds fun. Will there be drumkits too, or just hand drums? I'm a drummer, I always bring my kit and various hand drums/percussion to the playa, would love to drop by and play/teach.

I will be coming down from Alaksa with some bongos... not much room for anything else. So glad there will be a drumming camp to go learn new tricks at!!

Sadly the drum camp did not come together. Our efforts are now focused on the 100th Monkey Camp.

But we will have drums, come play with us!

I'll find the 100th Monkey Camp and bring my repinique drum. I'm in for some samba or other brazilian percussion. Could teach a bit aswell.

Hi all!

we are doing nightly sunset rituals at Sacred Spaces Village between 6-8pm and would love some drumming! We're also doing a FULL MOON Ritual and Ecstatic Dance event at the Main Temple on Friday between 5-7pm and would also love some drumming!!!!!
