Identification Problems

so my state id has recently expired, like a total idiot i thought it would be a good idea to get that fixed before i went to burning man as i am intending on moving to a different state afterward. now because i was stupid and tried to get a new ID that is NOT expired, they took my old id that was on plastic, and gave me a paper temporary that has a barcode printed on the back, a water mark and my photo and important information, will i be able to use this to claim my ticket at will call if i still have the original credit card i purchased it with, and the verification number, or have i ruined my entire summer and years worth of planning by going to the shamelessly sinster BMV, and let them take my plastic id? i swear i am going to cry if i cant make it at this point, this is the ONLY thing that has kept me going this entire year, and i dont even know what i am going to do if i cant get in, after having wasted 1000$ on supplies. has this happened to anyone else? what can i do? i tried to call the burning man offices but they are already on their way to playa, so i am having an anxiety attack right now and i am on the verge of a nervous breakdown trying to find out if i didnt complete screw myself over. please help.

Being as that it's state issued with watermark AND your photo on it, I wouldn't anticipate you having any problems. You should be fine..

Ditto...not to mention you have the credit card and your receipt. I would be more concerned if the paper I'd had no picture, but it sounds just fine to me. Deeeep breath! See you in a week.

erosenkido, I think you will be fine. The state issues these temporary ID cards for a reason, and most of us have either had one or seen one at one time or another. If you have any old backup photo IDs, even expired, pack one. You probably won't need it, but you'll feel better.

It is a legal state issued temporary ID. You should have no problems at all.

Photo ID is the key here.

I'd take everything else you've got, to be safe.

I've been issued a temporary (paper) ID twice . . . once when I lost the original, the second time year's later after I got my driver's license. I was legally permitted to drive even with the temporary . . .

It'd be a huge stretch to see someone fake an entire photo ID just to get a will call ticket that you'd need to have the full number of to redeem anyway. I bet even a student ID from a university or a photo badge from your place of work would suffice. I'm not so sure about those grainy photos on Costco membership cards though...
