Since space in our Prius will be at a premium I have been playing with some dyed and block printed leather art pieces to bring for the home since I can squeeze that in almost anywhere.

Will try to get some photos posted when I find a spare minute or two.

Great stuff AntiM! I like the twists on the "my first" I'm taking a vacation in a couple weeks, part a weekend event, and part a staycation. Plan to kick back and also get my playa stuff ready, and look for those odd bits of art, or bits of odd art that are hiding around here.

Up to about a week before. Earlier is better so I can pack it with the rest of the art. I'm very excited about all the donations this year!!! Wonderful stuff so far!

I could post what doesn't fly.... MOOPy things, camp gear, food, costumes/clothing, sex toys (unless made into an art piece), and unmounted drawings (they shred in the wind).

Forgive me for the noob question, but what exactly is the Home for Wayward Art? I am intrigued.

A place where you can adopt art, or put your art up for adoption. The "wayward" part is that is isn't all very good art. Some of it is downright horrible!

Anti M's Home for Wayward Art is a place for small art, medium art, amateur art, but especially Bad Art, Lost Art, Found Art, Art which Needs a Good Spanking, and of course, Wayward Art. This is not a gallery, it is more like juvenile detention for art, an orphanage, a half-way house for misfit art. All art in the Home is up for adoption, all the prospective new parent needs to do is fill out a small adoption form and clip it to the Home in place of their newfound art darling. Art may also be committed to the Home, just put it securely in place and say good-bye. While the emphasis is on visual art such as paintings, drawings and photos; sculptural art and trinkets found their way into the Home last year and then found new homes. Please, no food or costumes or gear.

Why? I love to paint, I love to do miniatures, I love to give things away. Based on the concepts of art and gifting, I came up with the Home. Why Bad Art? While I am quite good at miniatures, I am a beginner painter and not always pleased with my products. I also glean art from thrift stores and friends and family and yard sales.

Do you do this at the regional, too? I was at Element 11 but there were a few camps I missed seeing...

I used to do it at the regional (check the utah burners facebook photo albums). However, I just got to the point I could not make enough art for both events. So now we have the NoCostco at E-11. Art wanders in there too, but it is aimed at camp gear, necessities and costumes.
