Make this place more user friendly!

There are a very few people here that are responsible for about 75% of all posts. And those 1000s of posts are about 99% useless drivel, off topic, sad attempts at looking cool, etc.

These few 'constant posters' make it an absolute chore to scan through just about every thread on ePlaya. It would be much easier to find usefull info if these people were banned and all their posts deleted.

It would also save lots of server time and money.

It would also make newbies feel more welcome as much of the crap is snark aimed at newbies.

Might I suggest, as a modest example, of eliminating all Tickets links once the tickets are claimed and gone. So many of these losers make one post (using up what otherwise might be a perfectly good ePlaya handle) and that's it. Eliminate them and free up both the name and the space.

That's a judgement call, not a fact based call. You don't like the people who post a lot and don't feel they contribute, some of us do (yes, feel free to point out my post-count as if that's relevant. I could just say your low post-count just means you're not very helpful to the newbies).

Why don't we just make the playa itself more user friendly and just get rid of everyone who doesn't create art that you officially approve of? I mean the universe is obviously supposed to be designed for your ease & comfort.

If you don't want to read someones post, you can make them go away on your own (ooh, crazy Radical Self-Reliance!)- click on the user name, and then "Add Foe". This makes their posts invisible to you.

i think we should ban anyone who wears red shirts of any kind on Mondays. Because Mondays already suck and seeing red shirts...well they just upset me even more. We should ban people that come on here and post a half baked idea that's about as stupid as asking DPW to go alcohol free on the playa. Hell let's just have an online banning festival and just ban anything and everything that even looks iffy or questionable or doesn't fit our point of view...and seal up that closed mind a little bit tighter....

While I agree a little bit of change (like Doc Pyro's excellent suggestion) would be nice...banning for the sake of appeasing someone's myopic perceptions of how this board should be is not the way to go.

The quickest way to bring about change here is to promote the place in the JRS and Burning Man social media circles, and get a fresh flood of people here. Instead of being a brackish backwater, the flood of new people like a high tide would sweep in and flush a lot of things out of here...and refresh the place in the process. So don't ban, Participate and bring about change the right way.

My pen and paper skills say that 50,000 is about 1/13 or 7.6% of the total of 2/3 of one million posts.
Maybe someone should check my math.
