No matter your skills or interests, there's a way for you to participate in the creation and manifestation of Black Rock City, both at the event and year-round.
Hey Letterboxers! remember to list any boxes you hide on www.atlasquest.com a week or so before the start of Burning Man. I know there will be more letterboxes this year than last year. You can list them here as well.

Basically the same thing, Letterboxing uses personal stamps and I dont' think you really need a GPS to do it. But....if you're into Geocaching, we are having an event out there on Thursday morning

PugRay here.
So this letterboxing resembles Geocaching to me.

Sorta like geocaching, except that you use written clues instead of GPS, and no trinkets are exchanged. It's artsier-fartsier: rubber-stamp artwork, often quite detailed, is exchanged.
Check out the basics: www.atlasquest.com, or www.letterboxing.org
