Little Triangle with the Red Exclamation Mark

Postby jkisha » Thu Jun 30, 2011 3:56 pm

That little triangle button to the left of the QUOTE button that says "Report This Post" when you mouse over it. Should that now be used for reporting SPAM and other obnoxious posts to the mods? Seems it would be a lot easier and more efficient than having to copy the links and then post them in the "Death to Spammers..." thread.

Policy ruling requested, please.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

It logs a remark, but I haven't yet found where to look for such reports just yet. Use both for now, please, and we'll work on making it work.

Im totally smitten and am stealing the word Explamation for my own vocabulary. (just so you know)

So are we saying that merely clicking on the explamation is not enough to report spam? (cause I JUST used it without reporting elsewhere..... sadly to report something I really could read all day for it's hilarity -- 9 whole posts, and every one of them a damned good read.... but spam nonetheless. (sigh)

Edited just to prove to myself I can still do it!

Ah, I found the section where the reported posts go. Now I have to figure out what to do with the posts y'all clicked on.

I figured it out, so you can do spam reports either with the icon or the old cut n paste. The icon lets you make a comment on the report. I haven't seen KILL KILL KILL just yet, slackers.

Sweet!

. . . Anyone know what happens when I declare someone a Foe? Is it synonymous with ignore/plonk? Do they receive a notification that I consider them an ass? (I actually don't see a need to antagonize someone I wish to ignore.)

It crashes their computer as well...

I'll find out soon enough. I just foe'd (don't like the way that sounds, sticking with plonk) my first one. I'm guessing it's just like the old plonk.

That feature is very cool, but if we just click it, we may not get to see AntiM call these spammers "fuckos" anymore.
I really love the idea of being able to edit every one of my posts from day one. I'm thinking of outsourcing to India the task of pulling anything offensive from my posts as well as correcting my spelling. Who ever thought we would all get do-overs after all these years!

Edit to add note that I can even report my own postings as spam. What a world we live in! :D

Fuckos.

I love our little icon, it takes me straight to the post in question. I like "user notes" too, although I don't know if you guys can see them.

I just used the red triangle for the first time. Well, the second time, the first time I was told it had already been reported.
So there was a field for me to enter my comments.
I actually feel a little bad, he was just wanting to pay someone to help with his prep. I just don't know that it belongs here as opposed to Craig's List.

Just want to say, that I love the fact that after I've reported or tried to report a post, I have the option of going back to the rest of the sub-forum, rather than back to the post or to the index.
