Deep Playa Movie Theater--thanks and a request for photos

Deep Playa Movie Theater--thanks and a request for photos

Postby RiddimJack » Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:59 pm

Hello all, Release here, one of the artists/creative team behind the Black Rock Bijou. We deeply appreciate the kind words that so many people had to say about our theater, which was our first attempt to do something of scale(this was my eighth burn). We had a blast and so many good people out there helped us make it a great experience. (We were aiming to be a fun surprise out in deepest Deep Playa.) Now that we're back, er, well perhaps I should say "from" home, we have just one problem...between a stolen camera, missing backpack, and our own negligence, we have virtually no photos of the theater or ourselves at the theater. If anyone out there took some snapshots, particularly inside the theater and/or at night, we'd love it if you could share them with us. Some of you took pictures with us out there (with Solar, Rocky, Release, Matt, Veronica, Ashton, and Anthony) and we'd so love you to share them with us! It's an experience we want to remember...

Many thanks, again, for all the goodwill and Black Rock spirit that was shown to us out in Deep Playa.

Much love,

Release
Hollywood, Calif.

Absolutely awesome find! Three of us went in, got Junior Mints and Red Vines and watched a whole movie from the balcony. It was awesome. You'd hear a thumping outside and know an artcar just arrived, a few seconds later these wacky folks with all kinds of lights on would come in the theater. hahahaha. Truly a memorable experience!

Alas, first time in 10 burns that I did not have a camera.....

I loved the touch of having the woman greet us "You made it!". I missed the lack of deep playa works this year, but this made up for some.
