Have you been in touch with BMORG? I am not sure where you plan on placing your lasers, but ti looks like on top of the man since it is the middle of the clock face.

BMORG shot down our plans of putting time lapse cameras on the mans head, with a NO EFFING way.

that was three or four years ago.

My understanding of the layout for the lasers is that they are going to be placed around the Esplanade facing the man at the appropriate time markings like 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 etc... circling the man a full 360°. I know Jim is still looking for Artist for the project... and his is almost at $5000 on the Kick Starter site, he is hoping to blow through that goal and go past $5000.

I am sure they know what they are doing. Jim is a long time burner... I just wish he was on ePlaya...

as far as I know there are 12 lasers.... I am not sure of all the technical details of the system or even how it is all interconnected.

Of what I understand, there is going to be a SECOND hand.... I think he is using a RED, GREEN, and BLUE laser.... I am going to have to message him on Facebook for more details.

Weve been on the Clock system for years...except 2002..He might want to contact the BMORG, for shits and giggles. Would be cheaper.

However, aiming it at the man would be safer...and look better.

Jim posted a new video on the KickStarter site which explains things in more detail for those sill wondering about the 1MileCLOCK project! Also just to let everyone know Jim hit his GOAL of $5000 on the KickStarter site! Also he is still taking donations for the project.

UPDATE!: 03/15/2011

From Jim Bowers: The meeting with Burning Man went better than I ever expected it too! Bettie June (Beth) even said that if "anyone else had requested to do this project, they would not have supported it". I was SO honored (and a little embarrassed;) We got virtually ALL of the support, heavy equipment, tickets, early arrival passes and DIRECT help and support from Burning Man that I requested. They ARE REALLY on board!
