The game that the elites keep you involved in is designed to keep you (the public) fighting amongst yourselves while they (elites) laugh all the way to the bank. As long as republicans and democrats are tied in a knot against each other this assures victory for the elites who control both sides through lobbyists. The reality is that democrats and republicans (in office - not in public) are in agreement on more than 90% of the issues in the fine print of the bills (such as the death tax). They focus on hyping the small differences between them at election time to divide the public so that it seems like a real choice. There is no choice, except for inconsequential social issues that make no more difference than re-arranging the deck chairs on the titanic. While you're worried about gay marriage and other lesser important issues (I'm not against gay marriage), they are going to rip you off so that you can't even feed yourselves or keep your homes and have to work 10 more years to get to retirement age while millionaires get to keep their tax breaks on the 2nd, 3rd homes, etc.

Obama makes a good talk, but he knows that millionaires are not going to pay their "fair share" of taxes no matter what. They'd have to re-write the entire tax code and make it illegal to escape the tax ceiling by having multiple LLC's that pay each other to take legal tax deductions and place them in offshore accounts in less greedy countries. It's not going to happen. Obama is relying on your ignorance of the tax loopholes to make it look like he's trying to be more fair. As a business owner I have first hand knowledge of these tricks.

I'm encouraged by all the rioting in the middle east. I would have hoped that every one of those dictators had their head on a stick in the main square. I started rolling my eyes when the Egyptians made friends with the military. They should have taken over those tanks when the soldiers made the mistake of coming out so that they could have rolled into the presidential palace on the first day.

For the wealthy, the real issue is overpopulation, not the economy. They have the economy right where they want it. We (the public) are their problem that they are trying to manage for themselves so they don't lose everything. For this reason, the large segment of independents is what worries them most. It says to them that we aren't buying into their BS and see through their red herrings. There's an old saying; "while 2 dogs quarrel (dems and reps) a third gets the bone (elites)".

Meanwhile the same billionaire is funding the Democrats in a push to deregulate drug companies, the FDA, while increasing shares on Monsanto. Both sides are bought. It isn't about dems and reps. It's about the haves and have nots. That is where the most important dividing line is.

At least Libya didn't waste time on protests the way Egypt did. Dictators don't listen so a protest is pointlessly wasted effort. Just get your guns out and shoot the fucks. I guarantee you that if revolt came to the USA that our govt would shut down the internet the best they can. There are already bills in congress being proposed to help do this and one of them is a challenge to net neutrality currently being sponsored by McCain.

Actually, I am happy with that answer. It illustrates the notion that our blend of capitalism and socialism might be the best game in town. We might do some rearranging of the deck chairs, but our boat is fairly seaworthy and patching up any holes is worth the effort to keep her afloat. Really, most anything Obama proposes isn't any more fundamentally counter to all of our overall best interest than McCain's would have been. Nobody of substance is proposing Soviet style communism just as nobody wants raw capitalism as what we had during the early industrial revolution. We've witnessed both, and they're both too extreme. Myself, I thank those who fought brick in hand for our weekends off, and I thank those who keep every business entity from resembling the Department of Motor Vehicles.

If i could, i would punch each and every Republican i came across in the nose. preferably several times.

i am a 52 year old male with fairly severe reactive arthritis (and several other minor ailments) AND i need a double lung transplant. if i don't get that transplant within the next 2 years i will die. oh, and i've been 100% disabled for the past 12 years. i live in Arizona, the home of the Death Panel Governor.

fucking republicans.

if i am lucky, i will get my transplant thru the VA (yay joining the Marine Corps at 17) mind you, before Brewer started killing people, i was going to to thru the state for my transplant. that way i could have stayed in state. because i have to go thru the VA, i have to move to Wisconsin for 6 months prior to the transplant and stay at least 2 months after.

well. thanks to the fucking republican congress, i might not be able to use the VA either. because my illnesses are not "service connected" i'm fairly low on the totem pole. in other words, if there is a cut in funding to the VA, i am one of the first to be denied services.

oh yeah. i also have "assisted housing". another huge cut the fucking republicans are trying to ram thru. very good chance i'll be loosing that.


so. thanks to fucking republicans i may soon be a homeless dead person. i say dead, because i cant live without bottled oxygen. i'm currently on 5 liters per hour. if anyone knows anything about oxygen, you know how much that is. i will last about 5 minutes without my oxygen supply. 5 agonizing minutes writhing on the floor, trying to breathe.

I've been hoping this would happen since 1980 and so have lots of my friends. There is no goal other than to put fear in tyrants who would turn a revolt Cromwellian given half a chance. What a revolt does is break down government into a smaller size. Globalism is what is killing us. Keeping power local is the key to ridding ourselves of imbalance and parasites who feed off the unknown / unaccounted excesses of taxation. There should be no government larger than what we have at the state level. Our federal government is a parasite that feeds off the 50 states so that it can behave imperially abroad. The acts of "terror" that we hear about have been happening since the Roman empire, but are made an excuse to have global govt. It never fixes it but always increases it in order to make an excuse for an even bigger govt.

What actually happens in most revolts that go too far is that because people aren't getting paid, they put their efforts into survival. So the newspaper clerk says "fuck it" and the next guy who depends on said clerk can't do their job so they skip out, next thing you know a guy on the TV crew says fuck this, I've got to secure my family and dig out my guns and eventually Brian Williams sneaks out the back door with a disguise into a limo...
