Hi there!
I`m requesting some help sorting out a issue with a fellow burner.
Sadly to say, this burner is not of that personality we come to expect from this mold.
I sold him a pair of burning man tickets very close up to the event start and was not able to wait for the payment. And wouldn`t you know it, the transfer was... never completed.
Since I live in Norway, it is a little hard for me to track this person down. And I do not know where to go from here. So if somebody with experience or just helping mood could lend me a hand it would be VERY appreciated.

Trying to locate a specific person out of roughly 50,000 is rather difficult, even with more detailed information than was posted. You need to take one or more of the above suggestions: give us more to go on, hire a private investigator, write off the money lost as an expensive lesson.

If this person ripped you off, then I doubt they are worthy of being called a "burner".

For all you know, the person "posed" as a burner and re-sold your tickets for money! yikes! Also, we can't even give the rip off a new playa name like SCUM...because they could not be a burner, only a con artist.

I seriously doubt you can post details and names and such here, maybe hire a P.I. but what's that gonna do? Maybe fill out a police report and pressure the DA to prosecute...ugh, Reno has much bigger crimes and catching SCUM is probably something they'd like to do buuuut....how?

Sorry you got ripped off. There were others that had a similar problem, too bad there isn't a way to safely sell a ticket from far away, especially over seas.
Perhaps Ebay and get the money upfront.

I disagree. Plenty of stuff gets ripped off every year at Burning Man.
"Burners" aren't any better than anyone else, contrary to some peoples beliefs.

I erased the other threads rather than join em. Fishies was the only post, so I didnt think she would mind.

Why are you under the impression that burners would be any more well behaved than any other group of 55,000 people? I like the idea, but it seems to me that the term "Burner" is used like a member of a religion...

If you corresponded via snail mail it might come under mail fraud, in which case the Post Master General might be able to assist you. No guarantees on that but before you can even try that route you have to have corresponded via regular mail about the details of the sale and transfer.
