No shit? Does she know WHERE you're taking it?! You'll be tired after the festival, I know I was...took forever to clean everything on my truck and trailer! (it also drizzled just as I pulled in my driveway and made it even tougher! The leaf blower didn't quite cut it) I will say this, that truck in and out and under the hood hasn't been cleaner in years, I detailed it eventually, it came out really clean! Remember to use the car wash wand to power wash under the hood of whatever you take, alkaline dust eats the engine hoses etc up and it only costs $5 or so to use the wheel wash feature at a wand car wash to blast the engine and such from about 12 inches away, don't get water into the eletrical and computer parts! There may be other maintenance you'll want to do, like tapping air filters for motor and interior air intakes...ask for help..I figured it out and was sure to blast the air in all directions..dust cleared out. (there's info on main BM page and eplaya, afterburn auto care threads)

Have you signed up for the Reno Regionlas email annouce list yet?
I think it would be a very good idea for you to do that...you'll get to know a lot of interesting people and read about all sorts of stuff, events and such, things that will not be printed in the newspapers...it is a very active regional and no matter how many burners you may know, you'll learn more if you get involved.
At least go to the performances and help them raise funds by buying tickets...many shows are only $10, some $3! and some free...you'll like it!

Utah always sucks for teenagers. Even the burn events, because Utah law drives the insurance for the permitted events through the ceiling unless we make them 18 and over.

it gets as hot as Reno give or take a degree or two. There's no trees so it feels hotter. If you're used to the heat here (Reno) then you should have no problem..

If you're under 18 the LLC doesn't care if your 5 or 17.5, you're not a Legal Adult and you can't get in without a parent or legal guardian.

Just having your Aunt or a friend who's over 21 doesn't cut it- they need legal paperwork giving them guardianship for at least the duration of the event. Otherwise you can't get in. Period.

If you drink alcohol or do drugs at the event, that legal guardian will take the fall for you. They will be the one responsible, so don't even think about partying with things you're not legally allowed to unless you care so little for the person who enabled you to get in that you're willing to see them go to jail.

If you think that us making sure you understand that is talking down to you then maybe you're not ready for Burning Man yet.

SO yeah, get a guardian, get a notarized note to show they're really your guardian, and go have fun.

Do't do drugs - not only will they hammer you they'll make both your guardian *and* your folks go thru hell. Drinking the same but worse, as the bar or camp will take the fall. You know this, tho.

As always, standard rules apply - have your shit together to support yourself plus a third and don't forget a thing. Sucks begging for water or shade! NO EXPECTATIONS, dig? It may be the best time or the worst time or both.

Oh yeah, if yer emancipated, MAKE SURE you have both your ID AND your papers for that as well.
