This however, is one thing that bugs the everliving poo out of me: Using "and" to start a sentence. I was always taught that it was incorrect under any circumstance when I was just a wee lad, and so to this day it never looks acceptable to me. Just sayin'..
You are correct. The word "and" is a conjunction and should never be used to begin a sentence.
