How clean do you stay on the playa?

What are everybody's showering preferences while on the playa? Are you the type that needs 2 showers a day, or the type that uses 1 baby wipe the whole week?

Baby wipe the stinky bits everyday. I washed my hair almost everyday or at least rinsed it out. I did this because I have long thick curly hair and this was the only way to tame it somewhat. Either that or it looked like an old scary squashed halloween wig left in the back of someone's closet. It was also a nice way to cool down.

we used one of those too, mainly just to cool down and cool down passerbys if they wanted. It would take forever to rinse my hair out with one of those...well maybe not forever but longer than i have patience for.

I use a small sprayer to wash my body & wash my hair over a basin with a cup.

I tried that no rinse body wash this time and worked pretty good. Last year I just used a spray bottle and washcloth and that worked well too. My clothes seemed to smell worse than I did out there.

Shower every night before bed. Greatest feeling in the world to slip between sheets cool and clean. Doesn't hurt the sex either. Sure ya gotta haul water in but so be it.

Buckets with lids.

A 5gal bucket with 3gal of water and a little dish soap.

A 5gal bucket with 4gal clean water.

Put a hand towel in each bucket.

Wash with the soap water then rinse with the clean.

Didnt change the water all week and bathed every afternoon when the water warmed up.

Didnt wash my hair........I dont have any.

Since I camp in the same camp as Ibdave and Ibdave makes MacGyver look like a bitch……..I shower every other day in a shower that has is battery powered sump pump shower. You stand in a plastic wading pool. The gray water gets evaporated in this great evaporator system……did it tell you that the batteries that run this entire mess are charged with solar panels?

If you buy ice, you can use the ice from your drink coolers for shower water. Don't use the melted ice from any cooler you store food in though or you'll end up smelling like spoiled ground meat.

Damn eplaya ate my post.

I must have a bidet. A garden sprayer works well for this. Why pour water over the top when it is most effective for lady bits when arriving from below? Otherwise, whore's baths are good enough for the rest of me.

I keep my hair bound and covered; washing it requires a conditioner or it just knots up when wet. Conditioner makes a slimy mess of the evap pond. I just wear scarves during the worst whiteouts, keep it pinned, brush it when I can, and then wash it in Reno in a real shower where I can run water through it for 30 minutes.

Lightweight cotton hippie scarves from India work best. I got all of mine in Yokohama to use as face/neck scarves on the Harley in summer. So glad I hung onto them.
