Yes, for some/most there is a recession raging! Very wise decision and maybe, WE or JS can figure out HOW to make a quick and easy cover for the logos on the side
WE can try to figure it out here!
Use a cheap tarp with rope and wrap it around top and both sides? Tie with rope under boxtruck?
Nice to hear cool ($mart) rental truck guy, Joe, has plans to do more packages...perhaps many boxtrucks can be accumulated and waiting in Reno for long distance burners! (and a cargo towable type for me n my weird cart...haha)
@Love With $ you save, after the burn, you can go to SF Bay Area and LIVE there! Ya hear that SF! More on the way! To YOUR bay! yeah! Hahaha....or at least visit SF then go to Redwoods up North a bit to EeL River, @Rockefeller Grove a very very special 22 mile trail and can backpack or park box truck KOA or other park n camp places...need bug spray there!
It takes YEARS to find "stumpless" redwood forests, (at least it took ME years! lmao) I won't go to logged ones....Rockefellers saved this place (a "gift" hahaha)....also Mc Grath State Park is close by and is the same (no river and multitude of shades of greens from sun pouring in above Eel River opening in he sky) Mc Grath is known for biggest ferns! Chest high! I like to lay on my back and look UP at the sky through the redwood tree tops...then look into the thick darker forest...timeless there...prehistoric almost..schweet...like look up, then down...do NOT get "lost" there...easy to do...stay on the trail along the river!! Nice little camp spots, even day hikes...and little swimming holes every so often few miles...I think it's safe from the "farmers" around there...stay on the trail and don't go toooo far into the redwoods from I was told! Very busy and never logged, so lots of ( maybe? rangers and) tourists...this goes for everyone reading...the more people enjoy it the better right now...budget cuts for parks...burners and others can help...just by going and enjoying the area...use it or we lose it, do some MOOPing too! Porbably not too bad, just near the road. Go up the trail do NOT just sit at the pick nik tables and strum a guitar..take it with you!
Try to find glass beaches along coast...also schweet! created by very very old Victorian dumps, found at Southerly ends of beaches usually...but do NOT take sea glass anymore...it is "protected" except for some artists who volunteer to clean beaches and such...they get to take some of the sea glass (I have some from before the change) the sea glass goes 200+ feet deep! even if you scuba dive waaaaaaaaay out and go down 200+ feet! every shade of every color (and bottle neck glass rings ) you can imagine! china dishes sea glass too..weird place to kill a day or two.
Some are located at sunken graveyards with arches out to nude beaches! Spooky climbing back UP over headstones though! agh! careful what tpes of mushrooms you "find" there...omg! and leave the bones alone! those my relatives! just kidding, I'm not related or from there but yes...some graves and headstones are sorta crumbling in! the Daffodils and grassy surface offset that sight a bit...and yes, you can pick Gourmet Hedgehog mushrooms (again don't get lost hanzel and grettle)...these make a great brown juicy sauce just by saute in a pan in butter...yum....grill pork chops and pour juice over if camping! EZ! nomnomnomnom This is near where Hitchcock filmed the "The Birds" ... spooky, eerie place...kinna like the smoke n dust when the playa gets socked in! MuAh hahaha... My new film will be "A Murder of Crows" hahaha...we start filming next week!
Try Fort Bragg dune something or other beach park..famous HUGE sea glass beach there...sorry hippies, I spilled the beans! (it's at the SOUTH END!!!!!!!! of that huge dune beach park...forgot the name but it's infamous)
OK, back to the playa burn;
So uh, yeah LL I skipped some "hygene stuff" hahaha..
@yggy...yup, you're right!---> LoveLight don't freak out, k? $ave munny hunny.. so uh lovelight... you must bring big&small ziplock bags for baby wipes if no shower thing..do the shower too! both BB wipes & shwr!/splooge bucket buy @ homeless depot w/lid/...and piss jugs (you can/must drink a GALLON of water on the way to playa..first jug is then empty ready! got that!?)..blech but yea...and maybe try not to park too too close to JOTS...or down wind of them...ew...
2011 I'm using that vitalite stuff, less pissing!? less hassles with pee jugs...ugh...but I NEVER felt weary...tons of water, plenty of food...can NOT keep me down nor YOU n the boyfreind if you chug water! eat some food!
Indestructable this way...booze that's yer problem, maybe, I don't know, is it a problem?...I rarely drink much...hahaha..some but NOT tons.
I think Token knows how to explain super cheap food...like $50 per person...ttl..$100...but sounds like you have class or could afford slightly better...screw it, just do pancakes and bacon and easy stuff...I would NOT get all fancy! JS started an awesome thread for easy food too...thanks again JS! Oatmeal which I LIKE and other stuff...EZ!
Many camps get into it and were offering food...for me it was very random but well appreciated! Some camps food was spilling off the tables...feasts...hahaha....I was impressed! Roasted Rabbit and fresh baked bread! My god those guys and girls had it going on!
BTW, I was taught...a spray bottle with 50/50 white vinegar and water for preventing playa foot was the easiest way to do it..right on! Worked for me! Then lotion and back into socks/shoes! I felt some tingling and thought, oh shit...did it second day and everyday..after that. Bring two gallons! Can share, it's cheap!
@Tomservo...yeah, dead batteries just plain suck!
@AntiM...you are stronger than I am! Chandelier sounds shcweet! (I tented 2010) I have costco carport and tent (or random RV's or cargo trailer of my own..I was in 3 camps eventually...lol..plz don't ask, it was odd! sorta!
@Iso, yea, I like
metal tents...cargo trailer (mine or rent one if mine is crammed full)...with a frightening cart too! vroom, putt putt....and off I go! ever so slooooooow...where to, hell, I won't exactly know!
LoveLight don't get too confused and don't bring everything listed everywhere! You'd end having enough for like 40 people! (I sorta did that mistake...haha) It worked out great, gave a bunch away...I use my carport here and now at default abode but cleaning the extra stuff..whoa! what a
J O B...lil less "stuff" next time depending on where I camp.
Finally, I plan to have the midgetartcart, so that's why I said "slam mattress against wall, drive cart into box, then drive cart out at playa and slam mattress back down on floor" er something like that, didn't I? Anyway, I would NOT want you to POP your airmattress...be careful! LONG DISTANCE TRAVELERS DO NOT NEED THIS BUMMER! Pounding yes, SLAMMING NOooo!
Mine is a REAL mattress in storage...can take both. Slamming, Pounding you name it! hahahaha....cannot pop it! Haven't yet at least! hahaha!
I hope some of this added stuff helps! Cough syrup has worn off, phew!
Better than reading a book only, books help but this is a talking book!
Ask, and it will answer!
Ok so the thread drift maybe is not my entire fault here! Also, dig and mine and ASK JS! He seems to know what newbies and sophomores NEED! The 8th sense...
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!
