Georgie Boy: Fallen Queen of Broadway by Mister Jellyfish

An ex of mine was an ER nurse, and man were there ever lots of people comming in all the time with things lost up their asses. She seemed to think NONE of them were gay. The scariest was a lightbulb, WTF???? It does seem more related to stupid than your sexual orientation.

Yeah, but perception v. reality. It's attributed to homosexuality. I find the idea of concrete also to be particularly bizarre.

It occurred to me that I can't just offer some push buttons to play the vignettes and that the participant interaction should be more fun. Easy, familiar games have always worked for me in past interactive art, so here's a new idea...

What's the one thing the Georgie Boy character misses since his fall from Broadway? His name up in lights! Therefore, we'll have a Broadway style show marquis with his name spelled in dotted letters like a green room vanity mirror. Special thanks to Lightnin' for suggesting LED's mounted inside ping pong balls to diffuse them.
Participants can hit the big, lighted "spin" button to sequence the smaller letters of Georgie Boy's name surrounding the names of the vignette categories. When the spinning letters come to a stop, the corresponding large letter is lit, and a vignette from the corresponding category is played as the animatronic Georgie Boy interacts with his dog, Smoochie Pooch.

When his name is finally fully up in lights, Smoochie sings him a song, with lots more animatronic stuff coming to life in his Motel room in an overly happy, creepy, dream-like sequence of delusional delight.

There's lots of influence from our 2008 project, Zsu Zsu here. I think the crowd cheering and hoping for a particular letter will prove entertaining and engaging.

Okay then 10 is the minimum and infinity is the maximum. But that's not good. It may not be 13, but I don't think it goes as high as 20. My experience of these sorts of problems is that the answer turns out to be surprisingly small.

Yes on the "lock out".

No on the "respective slot only". For example: If you spin the wheel and it lands on either of the letter "G"'s, It will light both of the letter G's in the word "Georgie".

Elorrum: The wheel spins at random every time and can land on letters that are already lit and they will just remain lit and Georgie will encourage you to spin again.

Yes. But we're after the average. I know there's a way to calculate it. Maybe it involves Pascal's Triangle, but I dont' know the way to express the problem, so I can't find the solution.

The multiple letters make this an interesting mathematical quandry. Like was mentioned before first spin you are gonna get a letter no matter what.
Second spin, well the probability depends on whether you hit a "double" letter or not on the first spin. Hmmmmm...

It's 1 in 5 for 3 of the letters, 1 in 10 for the other 7, no matter how many times it is spun.
