I'm with Kelly on resurrection since I just found this thread.
I think clandyone, Captain God and XS have oversimplified the issues.
What fascinates me about this thread and the christian web site is the larger picture - which is a question of phenomenology. If you accept the basic spiritual tenet that objective physical reality is not automatically primary and that nonphysical and subjective reality doesn't necessarily flow from that, you need some system of defining what's what in that non-physical realm. Religions avoid this question by defining that system for the spiritual aspirant with all their a priori articles of faith. But whats underneath it all, is that faced with the innate human need to know completely who we are, we don't really trust ourselves to feel our way through the labyrinth of mystery. It always seems to degenerate into a question of dark against light, God v. Satan, good space brothers against the evil reptilian space dudes, etc. etc. ad insaneum. (Or alternatively, we might reject the whole question of religion/spirituality and fall into a different quandary of it being a matter of rationalism vs delusion. We'd still be trapped within a duality that only reflexively produces visions of 'more of the same.')
For this christian, his acceptable sphere of knowledge and experience is clearly defined in the same sense that we understand the world view of Columbus' time - the edges of reality are patrolled by dragons and the Antichrist. In holding fast to Christian theology he has to reject alternatives as being part of Satan's handiwork. Unfortunately in so doing, all he accomplishes is more firmly defining himself as spiritually stuck. He will never find out what his only acceptable source of spiritual wisdom holds in common with the Wiccans, Goddess theology, etc. Ignoring that question - indulging in spiritual elitism is one of the greatest dangers that faces our modern world.
I'm feeling a little demonic

myself right now. I think I might have to post a reply on the bottom of the Christian site and see if that guy has enough balls to respond to this thread and defend his position against the people he's so easily dismissing.[/u]
