When you beg and get your first free ticket, you are a Ticket Troll. See the sticky post at the top of the forum.

When you decide to go for two more free tickets, you are trying to push as far as you can to see what you can get away with. That makes you a scammer and a con artist.

I didn't have money to buy my friend a ticket either...... But i did it anyway.... And watching him be inspired by the playa will be well worth the budget crunch.

I do hope someone can help you but I also feel that if you wanted your friends to be at burning man bad enough you would make it happen with your own resources.

Its funny to me how judgmental some of you are hiding behind your computer screens. Would you be so rude on the playa? To my face? If we met and were sharing drinks and I told you i massaged my way to BM this year, would you call me a troll? A Con artist? A Scammer?

and NO, it is not wrong to ask - nobody should judge you just for posting "the offer". I am looking myself into spending $800 just to get there since taking a plane is my only option and I know how you feel... I went the first time because of someone else's good heart and I would rather believe in people's honesty then call someone a scammer - it is difficult for me to accept that people would always look into the dark side rather then honesty and light...

Missy neuveau LA hippie is doing free massage on the Playa, unless she is working off $900 worth of personal gain for tickets (that she mostly gifts, I'll give her the 66% charity credit).

So, how is this not commerce on the Playa.

Anyone but me could just walk up to her camp and get a massage.

Something that was a free gift suddenly has a $300 price tag, despite her re-gifting.

agree. selling massages for money is commerce, even if you're going to give the money to charity.

better "flow" is to say, my friends need tickets, can someone gift them, and then do what you're already doing, which is giving massages for free to people at the event.

tying one to the other, not so much.

using the eplaya to promote this, really not so much.

as a thought experiment, what would the eplaya be like if _everyone_ could offer services in exchange for tickets here?

it would be like craigslist. commercial, transactional, and not right (i am not dissing CL, which i still love, but that's not this).

God I can't wait till tickets are on sale again and the new "looking for a gift ticket" posts start showing up. They are to me, the greatest bits of reading on this whole forum. Their stories are great!!!! And their reactions when people don't immediately want to help them are priceless. Just re-read a bunch this morning. Fell off my chair laughing.

Hmph! I'm not laughing. I remembering the "gift of massage" you offered before 2010 burn and the polite, classy message I sent you that you left ignored.

Either you "lost" the email I sent you or you're full of it.

Token, everyone else here on eplaya take note please.

Use your frickin' credit cards or go work for 7-11 and quit after 2 to 4 weeks lady. When you quit a job, even after 1 hour of work, the employer would have to pay you under Calif law, there's your ticket money honey. Get a job.

A five minute massage, once in a blue moon, helps stop severe muscle spasms for me, a complete stranger with zero massage experience was able to help me.

Thank you stranger!, who was kind enough to reduce the crippling pain I suffer by giving a tiny masage, over my shirt no less, so that I could continue my days on the playa and gift the trailer load of good things I brought along and gifted. Not to mention my TIME spent gifting non-material stuff.

I would never ask for a gift, unless I was asked to ask....sheesh!
