Your barrel looks like the the shower-water tank in my bus, except I use a 12 Volt RV pump.
Try not to detonate that thing with too much pressure!
Seriously, those barrels are not designed for pressure. Mine is nowhere near 1/2 inch thick.
In my experience, few burners bring an air compressor. That's the sort of thing we gearheads own, but not normal folks.
But you correct that misting with garden sprayers is somewhat common.
