Do you play drums or keyboards? Percussion?
Madi's playa choir NEEDS YOU!
this is our 6th year and we seek a solid rhythm section to support our choir.
Your commitment would be:
rehearsals:
wed, thu, fri and sat from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Jazz Cafe (they have a backline WITH power all set up) bring your sticks, bass and any percussion. drums will already be there
Performance Schedule:
sunday celebration 10am-12:30 at Center camp cafe
Critical Tits ride, Friday afternoon: no rhythm section needed, but percussion players welcome to jam with the choir. All RS players welcome to sing too!
Meg's Boat! TBA
I would love to have another keyboard player to help me out. My rhodes will be in the house, maybe you have another one to offer up? If not, no worries.
My "expectations"
Just to be clear now!
I seek folks who will be committed to coming to all rehearsals and performances. I seek folks who are happy to serve the music and will show up no matter what happens out there! I seek players who have played in bands before, have some solid chops and can at the very least, be able to learn a chart in a couple of days. (translate: you might not be the best sight reader, but can take a chart and learn it in a day or two)
chances are good that I can get you music ahead of time...this is my job for the month of july!
We are a fun ensemble, we give a unique gift to the community and we tend to rock the house on sunday morning, so if this sounds interesting to you, please CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY with the following information:
what you play
briefly explain your experience with music
any recordings you might have (email mp3's or send a link to a page)
I look forward to hearing from you!
much love,
Madi
PS. you can find a little video of last year's performance on my facebook page:
