"possible"- completely.
Burning Man has to get permits renewed every few years and there are always people opposed to the event happening, one day they may outnumber us (and the money we bring). The government might decide that we cause to much damage to the playa at our current size, they may decide to charge more than the Bmorg is willing to pay....
There are hundreds of variables in play to keep a large event running smoothly, especially one as large and long term as Burning Man. If enough of those don't mesh, it could end. Hell, if Johnny on the Spot went on strike it would shut us down.
Personally, I don't worry so much about things I have no control over. I'll keep going as long as I can, and if it ends I can find somewhere else to play.
However, if you "must know" you'd better find a job as Larry Harveys personal assistant.
There, ygmir, truth and snark in one post.

Central WA, Central OR, even Nevada land is dirt cheap and flat. Oversimplified yes, but the BRDesert is NOT the only place this event could take place - and for a hell of a lot less money in fees.

He wouldn't have to do shit anymore and he could travel for free to every event around the world as a king. Of course he wants to end Burning Man as we know it. It fucking blows since Black Rock City is my local regional event !!!

Things you need to know:
I can sleep 3 in my living room, 2 in my bedroom (Hushville). Tickets will not be sold at the door, so be ready to buy online. My neighbors are loud bitches, so go nuts--my stereo is new and amenable to the task. Coffee and ice is available, but if you use all the ice, you have to make more; don't be a dillhole.
Temperatures range from 60-80F.
No pets.
No moop.
Nudity is permissable, but not on my avocado leather harem-style couch.
You may be searched on your way in. (I like to dig my hands in people's pockets.)
Daft Punk may or may not be in my walk-in closet.
