steampunk goggle Rx ?

i am looking for a pair of steampunk goggles that fit over my prescription glasses have not had much luck so far don't know if any one has them

Get a regular pair of goggles, spray paint them copper and glue watch parts to them.

Get one of your old pair pf prescription glasses, pop the lenses out, and glue them inside the steampunk goggles. I have done this successfully, although my astigmatism portion of the RX is a bit off. No matter, everything looks different anyway on the playa.

This is something that would work for Louise, as her glasses have thick earpieces and won't fit under any goggles. She wants more information.

I have visions of a big glob of glue in the middle of the lens, since their curved and only that surface touches the inside of the goggle lens. Do you have more specific information? Photos? How exactly do you glue your prescription lens into the goggles, what kind of glue?

I just cleaned the lenses and the goggles very well, them laid in a circle of 3-D fabric paint along the inside edges of the goggle lenses. Some would say use GOOP or RTV, but the fumes, even long after it has cured, irritate my eyes. Next, I gently laid in the lenses. The adhesive only holds the edges, and yes, there's gaps where the lenses touch. Fabric paint is sloppy and wet while setting, don't use much. You can add more later to hold better and to decrease side gaps. Make sure the goggles are sitting where they can rest without movement for about six hours. If the paint smears while you're setting in the lenses, you can rinse everything off and begin again. I used bright red, and yes, I can "see" it at the edges of my vision. Next time I get new glasses, I'll make another pair.

I don't have pictures handy, the box of goggles and stuff is buried outside.

Take the goggles to an eye glass place with your prescription.

They can make lenses to fit the goggles as they are basic round lenses.

I guess it would depend on the kind of glasses you have...

Depending on how much you want to invest and how strong your prescription is, some optometrists and vision boutiques will do custom lenses for antique/specialty frames. Might be worth looking into....

Or just do what AntiM did... also good!!

I actually have a pair of these that are already bronze. Just glue on gears and add leather strap. They are welding goggles designed to fit over glasses- I stole them from my dad

Any ski shop will carry goggles that can be worn over the glasses (look for a little "OG" designation on the box).

I believe the military surplus sand and dust goggles also fit over glasses, although I couldn't swear to that. Shouldn't take too much research to find out.

But transforming sand goggles into steampunk? The sleek design does not mesh well with the sprocket and gear look. Would take a huge amount of creativity and design skills.

While definitely a bit pricey, especially when you have to convert dollars into pounds, there is an artist in London that makes hand made goggles which can be fitted with your lenses. I have 2 pairs from him myself and ordered one pair for a friend and had lenses put in by a local optometry.

They are made of aluminum so are light weight and work perfectly on the Playa. (And he's using a pic I sent him as this "burning man" example. How cool!)

I have a pair of the aviators and they are simply the most amazing goggles you could get. That being said, they are made of brass and as such are quite heavy. As such, they aren't really good for daily wear goggles on the playa and Nicolas recommends you use the glaciers for that.

He needs 4 weeks lead time for them and they take about a week to ship from the UK so if you want them you'd have to order like now.
