This weekend has been planning logistics to bring a 20 foot teepee.
Before that I picked up a new improved LED lamp, and a neck bandana thing that is supposed to help keep you cool.

So fine I will post my duty of the week. Finally finish unpacking from 08 and then clean and figure out what I really want/need to take this year.

Been buying pink grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and vodka for Seabreezes for our bar. At a meet and greet for some new burners we added some champagne to them and got a really nice drink. Think we'll call them Playa Breezes.

I just finished my first edition of my 2010 Grocery list.
I'm sure I'll be updating that every month or so. Just going to buy some dried foods and the containers themselves this week. Tomorrow or Tuesday.

I leave for my camping trip in about 2 hours.

OK here's my contribution, Friday I decided to get serious about getting my new shade structure started. Found out half the conduit connectors I'd ordered back in September didn't fit the conduit...the canopymart was sourcing two different vendors and apparently 1-5/8" measures differently to some folks Ordered replacements. Slept in the sun for 3 hours today to get ready for (near)naked playa time

well my contribution...tough one...talking to you victorian of course and planning stuff for the awesome camp we are staying at and starting the fabrication of some custom made gifts for the camp mates and started getting some stuff together...like alcohol that was on sale...

This thread is actually right up my alley this year. Instead of plowing through and dumping a bunch of cash 3 weeks prior to departure, this year I've been buying one or two items each pay period. $20 or so every two weeks or so isn't going to be missed and will leave me more funds to play with when I go.

Since January 13th (the day I ordered my ticket) I've scooped the following:

A sweet pair of Chippewa Logger boots (that was actually a big splurge) but sadly the playa dust does a number on my tootsies (even with daily care)
New goggles since the seals have been eaten off my old ones.
Playa mug for cocktails on the go.
Tarp for shade (donated mine to an Indian Taco stand last year)
New cooler (see above)

Today, a big bag of furnace filters for our Gypsy wagon's windows arrived (Merv 9 and just the right size!), and I finished reading through all of the back Q&A posts, which took about 2 weeks. ('Course, it would have been about 2 days if there weren't so many duplicates! "Where do I camp?" "Shade?" "Water?"...)

I have some catching up to do.

January: 180 ft of blue and 180 ft of red el wire, solar powered lights (x-mas clearance), solar powered path lights (home depot clearance), misc led ac powered lighting to cut apart and adapt to dc power and a bunch of rope lights and other misc stuff for a build project that will get re-purposed for Burning Man.

Feb so far: A wire frame hippopotamus, 2, 7 gallon water containers (will be buying one or two of these a week as I remember to pick them up for the bus).

I came up with a totally fun design for a boot cover, with bells and battery-operated LED lights at night! And nighttime costume ideas. Just need to find a bunch of brightly colored silk scraps now, but have friends who should have some.

Today or tomorrow I'll be picking up some clothes/costumes for myself.

Need to pick up a buttload of bandanas to make cheap easy and cool bandana pants for my kids to wear there.

Need to start working on the little things I'm bringing to give out to folks (I'm making them).

Do you have a source for cheap bandanas? About the best we've been able to find is a buck apiece. The pants sound cute!
